This fic is goddamn amazing. I started reading this yesterday morning and I could NOT put it down. 15ish hours later and it's one of my favorites up there with Black Rose Raven, whatmustido, Kkat, and Imploding Colon's works. I love the characters, even if I want to smack most of them upside the head (goddamn you Rainbow Dash). You've done a great job with their personalities, keeping them rooted in canon while at the same time growing them into complex and intriguing characters. At the same time you've built an incredible world and history that has me itching to know more, and that section in Luna's chapter just made me even more intrigued. Really looking forward to the next chapter.
And RD is an idiot.

That's a lot of material to hike through in fifteen-ish hours, and I'm extremely flattered that I was able to grab you in such a way. Thanks a lot, lot, lot for the comment and favorite and watch.
I think I prefer my world over my characters, but only by a small margin. Everything you've seen in-story, I have like twice that much in my notes and my head, all of it irrelevant expanded universe stuff. Luna's chapter was fun, because it was the first time I was able to properly let my hair down and play with the non-immediate world. It was also one of the hardest, because hers is a mindset that is not easy to step into.
I'm glad you think that RD is a dumbass, because she is.

The world is exactly what caught me. While I do enjoy character stories, they've never grabbed me quite as well as a story from an author who puts more stock in the world itself. While I like being able to connect with characters, the real meat of a good story to me is the world they're in and how it both affects them and how they affect the world. And honestly all your characters are kinda dumb asses, though not in a bad way. It reflects their insular upbringings and naivety of what things are like in the real world. Though RD's little thing with Mac and Trix 'bout had me smacking my forehead with disbelief.

That's one of the themes I've loved playing with, the idea of what happens to a bunch of sheltered characters who suddenly have to take on the big, wide world. Some of them are more resistant to change than others, and those differences are only going to become sharper as things progress. As for Rainbow... she tries. Bless her heart, she wants to figure it out.
