Chapter 31:Heart of Darkness
I wake up. With Applebloom snoring and Vinyl asleep… Suddenly in the blink of an eye a mysterious portal opened again I then heard voices “The mind of the subject will desperately struggle to create memories where none exist” The voices stopped and once again the dark hooded figure walked out of the portal
“Finally, we are reunited” I then got up as time was froze again, The figure then raised his hoof as sympathetic aura circled around it. The aura started to swirl around my body and the hooded figure.
I landed out of the portal onto the ground, I was at the outskirts of New Appleloosa and the figure then came down from his portal with a strange weapon it had a jagged edge with a key ring attached to his wrist which connected to his blade, the middle of the blade had a blue serpent eye and black wings sprawling next to it, the blade had a violet aura coming from it.
“Time for the subject to wake up” I looked at him with a confused glance, the figure continued
“You`ve shown your worth to the ancients… now is, the time to prove that your worthy” I then asked him
“For what” the figure drew his blade and held it above his shoulder
“This” the figure then started to charge towards me, I felt a bright light shine from my hoof as a white and yellow blade spawned in my hoof
“Go” I then took no time to charge at the figure.
I charged at the figure, the figure then drew a blow at me as I quickly and barely drew my blade in defense, The figure then jumped away from me before I had a chance to counterattack I then started to charge this time as the figure was just staring at me with his blade lowered, before I got close the figure held his hoof out as a dark aura started to flow out, I stopped as he was planning something the aura then charged at me as the aura surrounded me, as the aura swept around my brain began to pound as I started to kneel the hooded figure then began to speak
“Darkness is the essence which flows inside us. Darkness is the mind of all living things… Darkness is your EXISTENCE”. Suddenly crows then began to flap around me
“Darkness is your existence, life is the seed, erect your spirit and mind, destroy… your soul” The wings of the crows then began to flap louder as several parts of my skin then began to tear
“Your flesh is the shield… the tissue is the womb of the tomb, suffice shall darkness be as light will be the prison” My head then began to shrivel in pain as it shook around
“Glory to the Darkness, Feed his spirit” a light then shined brightly at the crows burning them to feathers and the aura started to fade
“No hope is lost… shine forth and bring light to the dark!” a female voice then shined as I began to rise as the wounds I suffered began to heal, the figure just stared at me
“Unimpressed.” The sky then started to lower a blade into my hand as it glowed with the sun
“Still. Not. Impressed” I then began to charge at the figure which just stood there. I took the opportunity and stuck the figure with my blade, the figure fell down as his blade disappeared in smoke I then walked towards the figure as he laid on the floor I started to pull his hood down but all I could see was my face. The figure then began to talk and laugh
“Still. Not. Impressed” his mouth then began to choke
“No wonder why your mother died...” I was then enraged and then began to raise my blade to attack the figure but before I could I noticed the figure was slowly dissipating I then asked
“What is your purpose?” The figure then choked blood as he whispered
“Chaos…” the figure’s head then vanished in smoke as I laid there, I then began to hear voices again
“Life. Or. Death?. Listen as I begin to tell this tale…” as I heard the elderly voice speak my mind then began to pass out as I was unconscious.
I woke up on the bed as no one was on the bed, before I could raise myself the room then turned pitch black as I started to hear whispers “Sh, he’s up” I then started to see a candle light up
“SURPRISE!!!” I then jumped as I saw all my friends and family there in my face as the room lit up. Vinyl Scratch then started to speak
“Happy Birthday!” Applebloom then jumped on me as I began to speak
“You scared me Vinyl” Vinyl then giggled
“Well I guess that worked” I then began to go forward to give Vinyl a kiss as every pony watched, after the passionate kiss every pony then began to lower their voices apart from Calamity and Bluejay,
“Aw” my hooves then lifted off Vinyl as I got off the bed.
Every pony was downstairs but it was just me and Record Moon in her bedroom “Dad? How do you cope with the things that you do?” I then replied to Record
“You don`t you just learn to live with it” Record looked at the floor sighing “Sweetie, what are you worried about?” Record then placed her hoof on me
“You” I looked at her
“Why” Record then explained herself
“Dad, you`ve been with me since the dawn of time, well when I was born anyway. Well the thing is I`ve been having these dreams…” I placed my hoof on my chin
“You too huh? What did the figure look like?” Record then cringed
“He, had, a black coat on, and he-he had… your face” I looked at her shocked “What has he done to you?” Record looked at me as if she just suffered something fatal
“He, kept on talking about darkness” I then looked at her “Record, darkness is inside of us, he is correct but. Light makes most of us up, the major part in ones heart, never let that light burn out, otherwise you`ll end up like him” Record then pulled a brave expression
“Thanks dad, I won`t also I`m through with Violet” I looked at her
“So soon?” Record looked at me
“It`s not always the first sight is the best even though it happened to you and Mom” I laughed a little
“Yeah not all the time but whatever you do… don`t give up. Never” Record then asked me to leave as she had something to do.
I walked downstairs as Calamity was in my way at the bottom of the staircase “Ready bra?” I looked at him with a blank expression
“Already?” Calamity nodded
“Not just me” I then turned to the left of me to see Bluejay with all his gear equipped
“So, we leaving or what?” I looked at Bluejay
“Wow, you too?” Bluejay nodded
“Course” I then pulled out a map of the wastes as I then stood next to Bluejay and Calamity
“Alright” I then placed my hoof at the Mari pony Facility “We go here, Roads not that far or long, just got to stick together and we`ll be through this in one piece” Calamity then pulled out a assault rifle
“Yeah let`s go already” I then saw Bluejay pull out a shotgun
“Locked and loaded” I then pulled out my Moonraker
“Ready” I then left the two on their own as I went to say my goodbye and grab Applebloom.
“Applebloom! Where are you” Applebloom then stood in front of me
“Here dad” I then noticed Vinyl leaning on the corner of the room
“Leaving? We haven’t even started yet” I then walked up to Vinyl
“Come on, I have to go, why are you being hard to deal with?” Vinyl then looked at me putting her hooves around my body
“Because I love you” I then placed mine around her body
“And I love you too” I then sighed
“Then I`m taking you with me!” I then used my horn to levitate a shocked and laughing Vinyl on my back
“No!, stop!” I then placed her on my back
“Sure?” Vinyl shouted “Yes!, put me down already!” I smirked
“Funny I thought you was the one making this hard” I then levitated her back on her four hooves and placed her on the ground, Vinyl then walked back up to me
“I just don`t want you to leave” I then sighed
“Neither do I! I love you so much! But I have to” Vinyl then nodded
“I guess so…” I then wrapped my hooves around her and then gave her the most passionate kiss I could possibly muster
“How about that!” Vinyl then swooned
“Yeah that was the best” I then smirked
“Not as best as what I`m going to do when I get back…” Vinyl nodded
“I guess…” I then got enraged
“What!” Vinyl then gave me a kiss
“I`ll see you soon then… be back soon” I then nodded
“I will”
