SEASON 8!!!! MOTHER OF LUNA, IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING!
Plus, it starts on my birthday month! AWESOME!!!!
THE EXCITEMENT IS TOO REAL!!!!
Just watched Episodes 1 & 2 of Season 8 of MLP:FiM. Nice change to the series, so I'm going to list the positives and negatives of what I just watched.
What I liked:
We're trotting closer, or for those ponies riding the Ponyville Expresses other "Hype Train" locomotive, season 8 is closing in! I'm excited for this season of more of our 6 and more colorful pony friends that will be trotting with us. Now besides a brief summary of the trailer and what I've seen, this will be the first season where I am not looking at spoilers until episode has been viewed with my own eyes *grumpy horse noises* I'm pleased to announce that I will be doing typed reactions here,
I just wanted to put out there that all this leaked season 8 season 9 and Generation 5 is about to drive me crazy.
Truthfully, I loved the days that I had to wait another week to see the next episode. But yes, I guilty of "peeking ahead".
Grannies Gone Wild, the fourth episode of Season Eight was originally aired on April 14, 2018.
In this episode, Granny Smith and her friends head to Las Pegasus, and Rainbow Dash tags along as their chaperone so she can ride the best rollercoaster ever before it closes.
It's official. The show is now as cringey as the fandom.
The Parent Map, the eighth episode of Season Eight was originally aired on May 5, 2018.
In this episode, the Cutie Map sends Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst to their hometown of Sire's Hollow to solve a friendship problem with their parents.
Surf and/or Turf, the sixth episode of Season Eight was originally aired on April 21, 2018.
In this episode, the Cutie Mark Crusaders get sent by the Cutie Map to Mount Aris to help a young Hippogriff figure out where he belongs.
It also features the song, Your Heart Is In Two Places.
Friendship is Magic first impressions review: School Daze (s08e01-02)
by Obake
I'm not exactly sure what message School Daze is attempting to get across. That western educational systems are outdated, and insufficient? I agree there plenty of problems with the current system, but the episode never conveys any real issue with how Equestrians handle it.
Friendship is Magic first impressions review: The Break Up Break Down (s08e10)
by Obake
(SPOILERS!)
This episode is a blend of good and bad, much like a love potion. Or is it love poison?
Friendship is Magic review by Obake
(SPOILERS!)
On the Road to Friendship is overall okay. For an episode revolving around Starlight and Trixie on a road trip, it was not a total wash like I thought it might turn out to be.
Friendship is Magic first impressions review: Non-Complete Clause (s08e09)
by Obake
(SPOILERS!)
Non-Complete Clause is essentially a more annoying version of Fall Weather Friends. Where that episode succeeded, Clause fails. Maybe upon another watch I will find more to praise, but even so, it is the first bad episode of the season.
Friendship is Magic first impressions review: The Mean Six (s08e13)
by Obake
(SPOILERS!)
While the Mane Six and Starlight head to a friendship retreat, Queen Chrysalis makes clones of our heroes, vowing to find and steal the Elements of Harmony.
Second time in a row I can give you my thoughts on the newest MLP episode.
Friendship is Magic first impressions review: Surf and/or Turf (s08e06)
by Obake
(SPOILERS!)
The map calls the Crusaders and Twilight to Mount Aris, where half of the seapony population now live as regular hippogriffs. The other half still live in Seaquestria.
I'm here! Thanks for starting things out
Friendship is Magic Review by Obake
(SPOILERS!)
The End in Friend is in an odd place. It has the same issues as many recent episodes. At the same time, it also hearkens back to the feel of earlier seasons, particularly in regards to its moral. The episode is like an unpolished leftover from season 02.
Friendship is Magic first impressions review: The Maud Couple (s08e03)
by Obake
(SPOILERS!))
Pinkie must learn to cope with Maud's new boyfriend. This episode is more interesting in premise than execution.
