I'd heard whisperings that FF#19 turned out to be a decent issue, so I checked it out.

FF#19 could be an episode of the show.

A decent episode, at that.

I haven't forgiven IDW and Bobby Curnow for all the crap that's been in the comics in the last year here, but...

FF#19 shows that there IS some life left in the comics.

Ah, Princess Cadance. You never really did amount to much, did you? At least Shining Armor is a cool supporting male character and Twilight's brother, Cadance is just kinda there. It always made me snicker how "You'll Play Your Part" in Season 4 has her kinda shoved into the symbolism with Celestia and Luna as the sun and moon. Anyway, time for her to get a Friends Forever.

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. My OTP. Oh come on, it's so obvious! Lyra and Bon Bon was just obvious trolling, but the writers have been friendshipping RD and Flutters since Day 1. How can this comic go wrong? Well, getting Christina Rice, writer behind Main Series 30-31 and the Tirek issue, is a good start. Jay Fosgitt as artist, drawing ponies with necks like hourglasses, is another. Getting a sinking feeling here...

Interesting, IDW comics FF: They don't apologize for Blue Blood's flaws, and Celestia is fully aware of them when she gives SA Blue Blood as a replacement for Cadence on a important trade agreement to the Yaks. (they could have made Cadence look pregnant at least). Since something happens that needs all four Alicorn's attention.

Shining Armor and Prince Blueblood. Not a pairing I'd have ever thought of, but why not? It makes sense in a lot of ways, and we haven't seen Blueblood in any capacity outside small cameos since Season 1. I know he's almost universally despised, but perhaps this comic can win him some fans.

Pinkie and Granny Smith? There's a few ways this could go. I adore Pinkie, because I personally relate to her. I like making people happy and I don't like holding grudges. I'm no saint, I've said bad things about people and done some bad things, but overall I don't like negativity and unhappiness. I think Pinkie's vision of ponies making each other smile is beautiful. Granny Smith... eh. No opinion. Christina Rice wrote this issue? Oh boy...

Friends Forever 25: Twilight and Rainbow Dash (isn't the point supposed to be match ups we DON'T get in the cartoon?).

Rainbow Dash wakes up, WITH HER WINGS MISSING, and a dotted link where they connected to her body before. (RD's reaction is.... pretty much natural and puts her freak out with Discord taking them to shame).

Ironically, no one thinks Discord is up to his old tricks.

Our artist from the RD/Spitefire and Rarity/Cheerilee story is back.

Twilight and Pinkie Pie are taking the train to Canterlot. No teleport or royal carriage? Heh. Must be encouraging the economy.

We get one or two pages if Pinkie wondering if she's gonna be rewarded or banished, Twilight assures her it's not gonna be the second one even if Twilight herself doesn't know what it's about.
