Another season in the bag, let's see what I liked best (and least) about it!
Best New Character
Gallus
While a part of me is tempted to put the entire Student Six forward, I went ahead and finally thought about which one of them I liked best. Gallus inched out a win over the other five. His motivations in Hearth's Warming Club were especially touching.
(Runner-up: Yona)
I finally watched the two episodes released last weekend (BTW, both were great), and now I'm peeved that they made Gallus so goddamn adorable. I won't spoil what happens involving him, but now I'm envisioning Troy and Canvas reacting towards him like:
In which the Cutie Mark Crusaders answer a booty call.
In which every jerkass unicorn stallion seen to date returns all at once to fuck up Twilight's shit.
In which Starlight and Trixie have a GREAT AND POWERFUL ROAD TRIP!
In which duelling fandoms are discussed and Lightning Dust finally makes her second (and perhaps final) appearance.
I did not expect to see what this episode has to offer to us. The "growth" of these characters is always a treat to see happen within each and every episode we get since season 1, especially the main character of this episode, Spike. If any of you guys haven't seen this episode, please watch it right now. You will like it, in a satisfied kind of way.
In which Chrysalis makes Dark Evil Clones of the Mane Six.
In which the downward spiral that is season 8 produces yet another immense turd to clog up the friendship toilet.
In which whoever decided on that episode title is an ASSHOLE.
In which Spike starts getting hair in funny places.
I finally got around to watching it, so here's what I thought:
At first, I was scared about where they were going with it, although all was well within. I cringed the whole time, though.
I liked how they gave Big Mac some good characterization and the speech at the end.
8/10, was a decent episode, although it scared the life out of me.
In which we get what might be the last rehash of "Fall Weather Friends" in the entire series...and quite possibly the single worst episode of My Little Pony to date.
In which Pinkie Pie really blows at blowing.
