Another one of these already? Well, I didn't actually talk that much about anime last time. A couple movies, after the break.
Featured items this week are Mary and the Witch's Flower and Space Dandy, after the break. This clears my backlog from Christmas vacation, and the end of the alphabet is in sight! I'm perpetually annoyed by the number of series I've had to skip reviewing for now because they're hanging in a sort of limbo as to whether there will be any more seasons of them, not to mention the ones that definitely are. Oh well.
Early in the day today, but I have way too much to catch up on tonight. I'm about to run into a section of the alphabet without many very good or excellent ratings, so I'll plow through as many as I can today just to take the pressure off next week. Featured series are Eureka Seven and Flying Witch, plus the usual additional quick reviews, after the break.
Thank god I still have New Horizons
My name is Kagome! And I'm going to sing for you!
This Kagome would like to dance as well!
And the third Kagome would like to laugh like an idiot!
I recently retired a number of things that I was holding out hope of getting another season for, so that replenished my stash of reviews a little. Features this time are a series from three years ago, Dorohedoro, and a movie from four years ago, Her Blue Sky, plus the usual pretty good or not good stuff, including a recent one that just finished back in the winter, after the break.
The current season is turning out to be a little lackluster. Of new starts, only one show is impressing me, though there are two others I initially gave a pass but totallynotabrony has really liked, so I'll probably pick them up later. But for this blog, featured items are a series from a few years ago, Deca-Dence, and a movie from 2015, The Anthem of the Heart. Those and several other good to not so good things, after the break.
I don't typically like to have both featured items be movies, since that doesn't provide a lot of wall-clock time of entertainment, but such is my lot this week. Features are Nimona, from last year, and Penguin Highway, from 2018. Some other decent stuff as well, plus some more YouTube short films, after the break.
Featured items this week are ERASED and all things Tenchi Muyo!
I'm on a couple of new missions. One I'll hit on below, but I've also added a bunch of series that composers I really like worked on, so with any luck I'll have some great soundtracks to listen to. I also finished enough stuff recently that I'm backfilling again instead of getting further through the alphabet.
I'm coming up on a huge stretch in the alphabet without anything I'd given my highest ratings, so I'm faced with either reviewing like 20 things today (which I'd rather not do) or split it up and have only one featured item this week. And that's what I'll do: a series from just a few years ago, Hinamatsuri, after the break, plus still a large-ish number of other items that varied from good to bad.
The last of the summer shows I was watching have finished, except for one that's going through without a pause and two that will get new seasons next year. So the extras this week will have several recently completed series, but the features are a short movie, Hal, and a series from a few years ago, which I'll just give the short title of up here: WorldEnd. More after the break!
Spring season starts today, though that doesn't stock my reviews too much yet, since a lot of my favorites didn't end. Features this week are one that did just finish, A Sign of Affection, and a movie from 2021, Pompo: The Cinephile. Those and more, one also recently completed, and YouTube shorts, after the break.
Out of all the fan animation I saw for My Little Pony, this one has to be my favorite
Here's the article on my wordpress blog, which has somehow become an anime blog because that's the only thing I seem to be able to write about. I'll repost it here for convenience and because I'm bored, but if you have a WP account and want to comment, I would love you forever if you did it there, simply because nobody has ever commented on my wordpress in the month that I've had it up.
