For all the love and support I’ve gotten the last couple weeks over my blog posts on the story, I’ve decided it’s only fair to reward everyone with a new C&C chapter, which I will be starting this week. First, I'm planning to release what is not a UtM sequel (yet), but a companion story on the other side of the portal that takes place on Nightmare Night, involving Starlight Glimmer doing what she does best--trying to help her new friends but magically screwing things up and subsequent attempts to fix things only making it worse. The next Unleash the Magic - Nightmare Night chapter is well underway and, as promised, on track for a Halloween release. It currently stands at around 4100 words and is likely to be upwards of 7k or better before all is said and done. No preview this time, as reading over it now, I don't see much I could just pull out for a teaser, and I think this is one time I'd rather everyone come in cold anyway.

At 7k words already, Part 19 might even be draft complete this weekend. Expect this chapter to be alternating between the confrontation between Nightmarity and Eclipse, and the scene back at Canterlot High as a fleeing and frightened Trixie arrives. There will be some adult action, but mostly just scene-setting this time.

It’s with prereaders and has topped 11k words. I’m just waiting to receive everyone’s feedback, including the commissioner before I release it. Best guess for that is Tuesday or Wednesday night. In a late addition to the story, I decided to conclude it with one final, brief section at the very end to potentially set up a sequel or side story. Suffice it to say for now, it would appear that certain beings have a natural immunity to Sunset’s memory erasure spells.

We have a 9500 word chapter thus far, tentatively titled Lunar Lust, and it's a doozie. I promised to take Luna to the very edge of temptation, and this chapter does indeed deliver that. Be warned it may also rustle some jimmies, not so much for what happens but for admissions of what happened in the past. Needless to say, Luna has very good reason not to allow herself to fall into darkness again or be corrupted by this curse. So, will Nightmare Moon herself appear, you ask?

As promised on a blog in early December, I’m coming back to Midnight Rising with the intention of rewriting the poorly done ending to the Molly/Vesuvius duel to something far more fitting and appropriate. And once that’s done? I’m proceeding directly into the next chapter with the intention of putting the story back on track, finally focusing on Lemon Zest.
