Change of Eros plans... · 3:50pm Apr 25th, 2022

After working on the new Eros chapter for over a week but never finding it easy or enjoyable, I finally figured out why.
On the advice of prereader AJ_Aficionado, the-now 37,000 words I’ve written for the end of the Changeling arc is going into Eros instead of the main story. I realized he was right when he said that it was simply too big a scene for C&C and interrupted the flow too much. A single 4-5k word M-rated scene in the flow of the main story is fine, but I can’t afford to spend three whole chapters on it. I was already thinking about that, but he gave me the nudge I needed.
Get hyped for the first chapter of the Midway movie viewing, folks. If you need some help getting psyched, have some Sabaton:
Make that two chapters, since the total length of what I’ve written is 22.5k words, and likely to be closer to 25k when all is said and done. Yep, this chapter just kept growing and growing. In the end, that’s way too big for a single clop chapter, and I have a natural breakpoint in the middle. So it is officially getting broken up, but at least that means you’ll be getting two new chapters in fairly short order.
They're heavily edited and expanded as promised, but unfortunately, I am denied permission to post them to Fimfiction since they're not total rewrites. They're 60-80% different in terms of text, depending on the chapter, but that's not enough according to the mods.
Hope you folks all had a good holiday, and I’d like to extend a warm welcome to new readers of Feathered Hearts - Eros! It didn’t feature—its like-to-dislike ratio isn’t really good enough for that at 6.5:1—but it still got a slew of new tracks and likes. I admit I was nervous about how the chapter would be received, given the subject matter isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Or in the case of the griffons, bowl of tea. But I was pleasantly surprised, and needless to say, I do not plan to let
That I caught the coof and didn’t even know it.
It’s weighing in at 7300 words of nearly nonstop human/griffon M-rated action. Nothing else to say, except get ready for a doozie of a chapter, folks. Speaking for myself, this might be my favorite chapter thus far!
But Feathered Hearts - Eros is on deck, as it’s the most overdue of all my active stories for a new chapter.
Well, folks, after a very successful release of all my previously unpostable Feathered Heart chapters—five new likes! —there is one last order of business for me to finish before I shift over to Unleash the Magic for the next six weeks, and that’s the promised next chapter of Feathered Hearts.
To all new readers of Feathered Hearts - Continuation and Chronicles! The latest chapter featured, netting the story a slew of additional upvotes and tracks. And a downvote, but that's the curse of featuring—greater story visibility means greater opportunity for disapproval. They may sting a bit, but I care more about getting new readership than an occasional thumbs-down.
I’m currently turning the first half of Feathered Heart Chapter 4 into a brand new chapter, fleshing it out with a great deal of new content, especially at the start. It should be available within the next day or so, tipping the scales at over 11k words.
Though I’d hoped to have it draft complete by the previous weekend, the final ascension chapter of Harmonic Resonance is coming quite slowly, for the reason stated in the title. I’m only 5k words into it even after a week-plus, and I rather suspect that’s going to end up being less than half the size of what’s probably going to end up being a 12k-word chapter.
Much as I didn’t want to, I made the decision to break it up since the full length of the War Council meeting had exceeded 20,000 words and will probably approach 25k for the now-two chapters before all is said and done. The breakpoint itself will be between learning about the general war situation both Aricia and the Griffon Kingdom face, and then discussing what in all the Crows they’re going to do about it.
Just a quick note to let everyone know that over five months since the last entry was published, a new chapter of Into the Storm is underway. The first 1400 words are down, and it will detail the second engagement of Rock Biter’s Equestrian Army regiment at Harness Hill, including the story of how they got their nickname of the “Daisy Regiment”.
Hey folks. Though it wasn’t my primary focus while trying to get the last main story chapter finished and published--I’m very pleased with how well it was received by the way; I actually had some trepidation over releasing it with some R-rated action--I’ve been working on Eros over the past several days as well. It’s now up to 5k words and will probably be in the neighborhood of 8k before all is said and done.
Or actually, in my case, post-Turducken day (chicken breast stuffed inside a duck breast stuffed inside a turkey breast). Yes, it exists, and I prefer it to turkey for having a variety of flavors instead a single type of meat:

it will launch Monday night to allow for another editing pass and hopefully the final finished preread. Sorry for the delay, but I want to sleep on it and come back to it tomorrow before I pronounce it fit for reader consumption.
EDIT: Launched early Monday afternoon after final preread was in and another editing pass completed. Enjoy!
It will launch when I get up on Memorial Day, which is Monday morning (a three day weekend! ). First full editing pass on the ten chapter side story is complete, and a second one is planned. I also need to flesh out the final two chapters by about 1000 more words to bring them up to what I consider ideal clopfic chapter length. That aside, I've already got the story cover prepared:
Well, folks... work is finally easing, and if all goes well, you’re going to see two chapters from me in the next two days. Firefly is nearly ready except for the songs and graphics, which I’m still working on, but I’ll share the base map of Harness Hill here:
