Feathered Hearts - Continuation and Chronicles is concluded for now... · 10:53pm Dec 15th, 2022
But Feathered Hearts - Eros is on deck, as it’s the most overdue of all my active stories for a new chapter.
I’m going to try to have one ready by Christmas, but that’s getting a little dicey at this point with only ten days remaining, so apologies in advance if the date slips to New Years. It’s possible I’ll have it draft complete by then, but then the problem becomes that prereaders won’t be able to get to it because of family obligations. If so, whether I release it or not without prereading depends on how comfortable I am with it.
I’m not sure that I’m in the best mindset for it right now, given my testosterone level feels like it fell off a cliff in the last couple weeks as my last round of pellet implants ran out (for those unaware, I have chronically low Testosterone) and I can’t get another set until early January. Nevertheless, we’ll see what I can do it. Updates as they become available. But no teasers unless heavily sanitized of M-rated content.
I will return to Continuation and Chronicles in the new year...
As we start a new arc of the story. Looking ahead to what happened in the original Feathered Heart, chapter 10 saw the arrival of our heroes at Aricia, and Gilda discovering that she was now the ranking officer of the garrison after the Tribune and his senior staff along with the town’s “Count” (which I’m interpreting to be mayor) was killed in the initial Cloven attack. And chapter 11 had them discussing strategy with her remaining officers and Gilda getting to know her new forces.
Obviously, much of that is going to be different in the new version of the story. They’ll arrive at Aricia, yes, but Tribune Cipio survives, as you’ll understand that I’m not about to pass up the chance to have a confrontation between him and Gilda over his orders.
There’s also the little matter of the Changelings as they can’t exactly stay hidden in the city, especially when the Queen’s personal yacht lands in the middle of a major military base along with hundreds of undisguised drones. But then again, she’s resolved that they’re going to fight in the open against the Cloven, so accommodating and integrating them with the griffon and human military is going to be... interesting. There will also be one last major revelation to reveal.
With the Cloven in the area crushed, expect some down time before any more battle action as they get settled, and for those you hoping for more adult action outside of Eros, it’s coming but not right away. Keep in mind that this isn’t a clopfic—it’s a combat fic with clop, so when it happens, it has to be appropriate to the story. But with Chris and Tara injured and in need of healing while an exhausted Gilda has a slew of responsibilities to see to first along with absorbing the entire experience, there won’t be much chance for things to happen.
As for the overall story arc to come...
I’m planning for it to incorporate content from the next ten chapters of the original story (i.e., wound-licking, Marco training and ending up in a duel, an exchange of raids between the griffons and Cloven) and end it with another major battle where an Equestrian vanguard force arrives to help. You can expect two particular ponies who have already been mentioned prominently in the story to be in that mix, and I really don’t think I have to name them. But plenty of badassery is planned from them when the time comes.
And this is to say nothing of developing characters like the dragons and Gabby further; I’d especially like to see the true personality of the latter shine through. But all that lies in the future, and for now, I’d like to conclude this by warmly welcoming all new readers and thank everyone who offered feedback. I’ve been working on this for two years and haven’t stopped enjoying it. Here’s to two more years and seeing this through to the end.
Kinda outside the topic, but any progress on Dominion Academy? I'd love to read the second book :D

I really appreciate the interest from both of you, believe me, and I know I’ve left it languishing for way too long. I definitely want to resume work on it, but I can’t without stopping or at least dramatically slowing work on all my stories out here, of which I still have several active ones with many hundreds of readers that in some cases I’ve been trying for years to finish. All that said, I will *try* to get back to DA this coming year. I also need to give the original an update including a full editing pass as well as fixing a couple scenes.
I guess the biggest reason I haven’t resumed it is that I don’t get the feedback on it I do from stories here, so there’s much less immediate reward for it. Of course, the point of it is at least in part *financial* reward since I can actually sell it. Might help to remind myself of that occasionally.
