So yeah, I didn't really take much of a break. But I still pushed myself less, and I think it helped.
So yeah, things happening. Trust me, more things will happen. As well as stuff. And perhaps a cameo from your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Surprise again! Another update.
After two days.
I wrote chapter 4 in 1.5 days, with less than 12 hours of total work. And I think it's the best chapter yet.
How did I do this? Hell if I know. I just hope you guys like it.
Maybe I just needed to hit my stride, as far as narrative structure. Some combo of that and finally being in a scene/chapter where I have very clear ideas of what I want to do. *shrug*
Yes, I actually produced a chapter in less than a week. Less than a week after publishing the last one, even.
I'm rather pleased with myself. More specifically that I did so in such a relatively short time, and it looks pretty damn good, of I say so myself. These early chapters may all end up preread and edited more completely up to snuff, but eeeeyup.
Okay, guys. So my friend Red Fempyro (who you can find on deviantArt and Tumblr), the same one who made that pixel art from before. She popped up, after a long period of radio silence, and decided that she'd make me another thing. (Let us keep in mind, though, that the cutie mark is still not my property. I'll have my own to put on her backside... eventually.)
Imagine my surprise...
So it only took me three months to post an actual new chapter. When all it needed was a few hours more of TLC.
I'd stress again how I'm inexperienced (in regards to the writing quality) and blah blah, but you guys don't need to hear that, I've said it before. Eh.
But what I will say is... that I've hit level cap with my main on Wildstar, so I'm more free to just do whatever again. And I'm on something of a reading stint again, and you know what that means...!
Alright, guys, after a few weeks of kinda forgetting that the very notion of writing exists, I've touched on things again tonight and I think Chapter 2 is pretty much good to go. I'll be looking it over later and it should be up before long. And by that, I mean likely tomorrow/today, the 7th, but it could take a day or two longer, perhaps? Depends if I come across much stuff I want to touch up now that I'm done with the overall sequence of events.
Well, the writing of chapter 2 is complete. I think. I feel odd about how quickly the second scene goes. It seems to present its exposition with little weight. But once it gets edited and all, I'm sure that'll be fixed. Its events could get shifted around chronologically, though (I'm perhaps too worried about seemingly progressing relationships and such too fast), though, in which case I'd have to write up a whole new chapter basically, but eh.
Work on chapter 2 has started, but stopped just as fast after talking with Everhopeful a bit. We need some external conflict here, and aside from the fire we had before and which won't happen yet... Well, I haven't exactly thought too much about such things, generally speaking.
Some ideas are slowly forming in my head, but I'm not sure how quickly this'll come together. Still, I'd say the chapter should be finished within a week, or maybe two if it really takes a while.
So, for the past two days, I've actually slowly been rewriting good ol' Fireflank. I've long passed the point I got stuck on last time, and really, I don't think it's gonna happen again. The times I've tried doing this and failed, I got the great, passionate fire in my chest that quickly burned out (not to mention I was just editing, when I'd already done... lots of editing before and just after initial publishing). This time, it's more of a calm compulsion. I can take breaks and do other
