Well, guys, rebooted chapter 1 is now complete.
Completely written, anyway. I still have to italicize the necessary bits and add both a line about the time of day, and a comment about Wisp's job at a relevant point, but besides those two things, it is done.
It hasn't been preread at all, but it's just so much better than it used to be. And I mean objectively so. I will let my prereaders look at it, but any changes I might make will not be extensive. I edited this same content enough a year ago.
Additionally, considering that I can't think of anything in the old chapters 3, 4 and 5 that I'm keeping besides Sun's Flank and the flashback scene; Cloud Kicker, Dusty, and the house fire are all gone. So almost everything from here on is new content. Starting tomorrow, I'm effectively, finally writing new chapters.
Holy goddamn, this feels good.
Expect update very soon, once I get some rest.
Well..... I wish you good fortune. i've been waiting for this story's return a long time, and I'm eager to see how it goes.

I'm not at all proud of how long it's taken, but I feel I have my head on right about it now. And what with the promises I've made before, I'm not about to make guarantees about consistent updates, but if nothing else, I feel confident about its future, and for now that feels like enough. lol
Plus, this time coming back to it, it's more of a calm, persistent ember rather than a blazing fire. I think I'll at least be writing a little a day for some time.
