    Mother of God, pt. II

This post isn't just about le art, but first things first:

You guys remember how Wisp's cutie mark was kind of technically definitely stolen? Well, no more. Finally, at long last, it has happened:

    Kinda big news (rewriting)

So last night I spent a good several hours talking with a couple friends about Fireflank. At first it was about a few important things I might change about the story at large (and most particularly my concerns that I may allow Wisp to come off as "too" talented magically), but as things progressed and more input was given, I became convinced that it would indeed be in my best interests to go over

    I'm horrible

So I was working on Fireflank. I really was. But then Fallout: Eclipse sucked me in until I was done with its first chapter and I'm terrible.

The Tiniest Update - Fireflank Time

Just letting it be known that I'm now focusing again on Fireflank, having decided it best to work on the story that's actually at a fully writable stage. Doing at least a little bit every day.

GOOD NEWS, everyone! All 31 of you that are still "here"... Thanks for waiting--though I'm not publishing anything yet! All in time...

So it's been a few years. I tried learning to code, flopped and got all depressed and realized something: I've always been good at writing, and been fascinated with narrative fiction, so... I've learned and grown a lot in the past few weeks. I've realized who I truly am, what I can really do, and how much I am capable of learning...

...Which means I've realized the FULL and {nearly] EXACT scope and nature of the Fallout: Equestria fic I've been working on. I'm also gonna be working on a semi-episodic Steven Universe fic series; Although by nature it will see human eyes far sooner, Nora Universe will be basically be the free-form story of my life, and Fallout: Equestria - Eclipse will basically be my personal Bible. I'll include a link to NU in a future blog post, and if I could ask anything it would be to give both stories a shot one day.

This account's purpose is for pony, though, and one day I will definitely come back to truly, properly write Fireflank and do Willow Wisp's (tHATS HER NAME NOW SORRY) story justice. Don't worry, though... She's still gonna be really important in my new fic. :derpytongue2:

* * *

HEY! Just let me know if you guys would be interested in any details. There's a lot left to figure out, but most of the main characters are very well-defined at this point. I'll probably start making posts anyway, BUUUUT it'll happen sooner if you ask! :raritywink:

Just let me be clear that this will take anywhere between a moderate and very long while. I don't need to have the story completed before I start publishing, but I need to polish everything to a point that I have a solid queue to give me room to perfect the rest as much as I can by that time. HOWEVER, if anyone would like the sound of short stories involving a batpony called Sunny, or, say... what Cloudchaser's time in the Wonderbolt Academy is like... I could whip that up much faster!

Anyway, that's all for now. See you soon!

...Wow, it's been a while. I figured you were one of the many people who drifted away from the fandom. It's good to hear from you again.

Yeh, I did start drifting in and out after a while. I think I finally went back through season 6 to get through 7 around the time 8 was airing, lol. Steven Universe really connected with me personally more than even MLP, buuuuut...

Both are super awesome, and I miss the pretty ponies! And since writing and reading is gonna be my thing now... I can't think of a better place to start than dear old FimFic! And I have some crazy concepts to connect at least some of them, too. :derpytongue2:

Also, HEY, I remember that name! And the same to you. :twistnerd:

Ah, I see. Well, for what it's worth at this point I'm fairly steadily drifting away from the fandom and am mostly here to clear out my read later list. Once I do that I plan to move on to more traditional fiction, although I at least intend to keep an eye on this site for updates.

As for you, if you intend to make writing your thing, you probably want to consider original fiction so you can make some money off it. I don't know if any of your ideas are portable enough to move to a non-pony fantasy/sci fi setting, but you should definitely keep that in mind in the future.

And yeah, I remember you too.

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna have to work more on original stuff. I do have something that came to me in a dream like five years ago, and recent experiences I'm pouring into Eclipse and my Nora Universe are going to influence that as well.

Right now, though, I've only just this month found my truest self (at the cost of losing my romance to her petty side). I have a year and a half before I graduate, so for now I aim to build up what was always my biggest passion project, and put a whole new spin on Steven Universe as a short-story series thingy. And heck, that itself might evolve or branch off into the final version of my Original Idea. lol

Anyways, most people gotta move on from pony sooner or later. Here's to success in your future endeavors! :coolphoto:

Thanks, you too. It sounds like you have a plan, and while it won't be easy, your approach of building skill in fanfiction as you plan a big original work is solid. Just don't delude yourself into thinking it'll be easy and you'll get there eventually.

Mhmm; just because I know my path now doesn't mean it'll all come as easy as it does now. Just gotta keep improving bit by bit until my dreams come true, as goes for anyone!

Yep, keep pushing through or going around the inevitable obstacles and take a risk on any opportunities that present themselves. You might not wind up quite where you expect, but it should all work out in the end.
