Loveable klutz, IQ of 60, caring mother, idiot savant or just a pony with lazy eye. What's your favourite kind of Derpy?

I'll be honest and say I like almost all the fan portrayals of her, from the ineffable genius who can solve the travelling salesman problem but has no idea of how to fly in a straight line, to the Forest Gump who is just so happy if you give her a muffin, but I have a particular affection for the Derpy who's just bumbling through life and trying to do right by her kids. She's not the smartest, but neither is she an idiot, and for whatever reason she's simply irrepressibly happy.

The beauty of Derpy is that we don't have to choose. She's a tabula rasa, a strabismal slate on which we can write just about anything.

Still, aside from my own take on her, one of my favorites has to be "ex-Royal Guard." Whether or not the eye is a relic of her career-ending injury, or if she even remembers her time in the Guard, the idea of Derpy being a veteran protector of the princess is very appealing, especially when put hand in hand with her maternal side.

Mama Ditzy/Derpy is my main preference but I also rather like the whole veteran angle as much. Personally I'm good with any Derpy so long as its not some sob story variation (like that one where she was abandoned as a child). Don't like sad stories so I avoid those.

I pretty much like all of them, especially 'good mom' and 'hidden past' Derpy, but I have to admit I adore the happy-go-lucky good mom of Escort's Journal Derpy. Well, and alicorn Derpy, but you already know that one, I imagine!

I like Derpy with hidden depths. I like Derpy who's an excentric genius. I like Derpy who's klutzy and maybe not too bright, but will never ever let down her friends and her family. I like Derpy who's excentric but successful in her life, who lives in a world just slightly askew to other ponies', where hiding in chicken coops and ransacking your friend's fridge is perfectly sensible things to do.

I like most depictions of her, but mostly I like it when she's happy.

i love Derpy as a kind lovable klutz such as in pierce smoulders drama doctor whooves and assistant she may be a klutz but she can still understand a portion of what the doctor says half the time and manages hangers on with him anyway i dont really accept dinky as derpys daughter yet but its cool but i think my favorite derpy is lovestruck derpy theres just so much dawww here

in fact this may have been what got me into both derpyXdoctor shipping (my very first ship btw) an ditzy in general
