These movies I've seen in my childhood and they scared the hell out of me. Most of these films are pretty underrated. Anyone agree? Seen any of these? What were some underrated family movies that you've seen from your childhood that had a dark atmosphere?

Coraline was amazing. It was my 2nd favorite film of that year.

2117544 At first Fantastic Mr. Fox scared me a bit, I was young and wasn't used to stop motion animation. But now that i look at it, it's actually a pretty decent movie. But my all time favorite scary family film is Coraline. Take that Paranorman!

The Secret of NIMH is still fantastic after thirty years. Mrs. Brisby remains one of the strongest female animated characters in film.
