Even before I did my spring cleaning did I know that we had quite a few clop stories (stories with a main focus on sex instead of where sex pops up here or there... In other words porn) in the group, but going trough the folders, especially the one shot folder, did it surprise me how many clop stories that we have.

Now don't get me wrong, I do not think it is a bad thing, nor do I honestly think that it is a positive thing either, (I am pretty neutral when it comes to what kinda stuff people put in their spank bank), but I must admit that it kinda makes organizing a bit hard to do, since clop is so much more different from most other stories.

In other words, those there are into FoE clop would most likely like there being a folder for clop fics so they can easier find them, and those there ain't into them would most likely not mind the clop fics being pulled out of the folder system and being gathered in a neat little pile under the local Overmares matress.

... So yea TL;DR, should there be a clop folder?

Absolutely. Imo one of the biggest flaws with fimfiction as a site is that it doesn't differentiate Mature from Explicit, and makes it kinda hard to search for Mature fics that aren't clop.

Issue with that is that it excludes stories that are mistagged. I.e., M-rated stories that are tagged [sex] but don't feature explicit scenes. It's a very easy mistake to make, and you see it a lot. Besides, even if a story contains an explicit sex scene, it's not necessarily clop. And the [porn] tag is relatively new and still wildly underused imho.

It’d be wise to put them in a folder because those who seek it out will appreciate the ease to find it, an those who do not want to read it can just not click on the folder.

While the group Clop Apocolypse exists for Fallout Equestria (and other apocolyptic) porn, it is a lot smaller and less people see it (and the stories there) than they see this group. While it would be nice to have it, I wonder about the logistics of making it work.

And for all the neighsayers, nust adding the Porn tag in a search won't work, because not all authors tag their clop with the Porn tag.

Yep. Call the folder stable 69 or some other funny euphemism and everyone is happy. No one wants to be looking for a serious story and just get a description of ghoul wang, similarly if that's what you're looking for the opposite is also annoying.

Putting porn in a porn folder would help separate the stories for those who want, or don't want, to read them. Of course there will always be some stories that defy easy categorisation, but most of the stories should be easy enough to file appropriately.

There is a tag for it, but it is a newish tag, and FoE porn have been around for like 10 years or so by now, so there float around some stories that the authors have left behind and never gotten to tag with the new tags

Well, I split off the sex content of my fic into a separate "side story", so, it's a bit of an odd case. Sure it's a chapter focused on the porn part, but the story it's a part of isn't

Seems like a good idea to me. It's certainly a subject that some people would want to avoid (or, conversely, that some people would like to find more easily). Sounds like a perfect use for the folders.
