I've only joined the site around a month and a bit ago and are still finding my feet. I thought I'd give this Self-Promotion thing a go and see what happens!
So, 'Marking the Generations' reimagines the latter stages of the Make your Mark series. Follow the adventures of Sunny, Izzy, Pipp, Zipp and Hitch as they not only make a permanent friend in Misty, but also meet two ponies from a past Generation, Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer. Together they search for the Elements of Unity and rediscover Harmony and Unity along the way.
I've split this into parts, of these Part One is complete and Part Two is in progress whilst Part Three is in the planning stages. I expect there to be just three parts but until I've planned out Part Three I won't know for certain.

Marking the Generations is a four part series of stories which are a reimagining of the later stages of the Make your Mark series. Follow the adventures of Sunny, Hitch, Izzy, Zipp and Pipp as they make a new friend in Misty and meet two ponies from a past generation.
Twilight Sparkle has always done her best for Equestria. As her reign finally ends, she realises her final decision to safeguard Equestria will have consequences. However, let it not be said that Twilight Sparkle ever left Equestria to its own devices.
Calling on Starlight Glimmer and Sunset Shimmer. She transports them through time to assist the new generation to identify the Elements of Unity and defeat the evil she was unable to alone.
PART ONE
In part one of four, Misty is sent on missions to obtain items of great importance to Opaline’s plans. However, she finds herself questioning her place as Opaline’s protégé more and more. Meanwhile, Sunset and Starlight are called to the cutie map, only to find themselves abducted by it and being deposited in the future.

Opaline's plans are kicking up into a higher gear as Sunset Shimmer inexplicably appeared at the door of her castle. Whatever plans Opaline has for her they are surely going to be a Nightmare for her new guest.
Will our heroes find the door to Misty’s Key? Will they find the Dragon Lands to warn the Dragon Lord about the Dragon Stone and help Sparky finally recover? Will they find the Elements of Unity and defeat Opaline?
All questions to be answered within!

Will Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer return to their time knowing their new friends were triumphant?

The battle with Opaline has concluded, however I don't want to give away who was victorious.
However, the story isn't over yet as there's plenty to wrap up before Sunset and Starlight return to their time. I'm hoping more chapters will be released soon.

At the moment, it's looking like there will be Twenty One in total.
That means we're getting closer and closer towards the end of the story.
However, the latest chapter, chapter Seventeen, I feel is one of the best I've produced so far. I'm eager to hear what people think of it.
Also, I have ideas for future stories which will follow on with the continuity I've set up in Marking the Generations.
So whilst we're nearing the end, this end will only be the beginning.

This has been a brilliant adventure for myself writing for MLP for the first time.
I hope the decision to split it into four parts has been worth it. I felt narratively it worked better and it certainly worked better from a writing perspective.
So, I've now completed the last part of my four part story, Marking the Generations.
I've been working on this since around the beginning of the year and it's the first story I've written for MLP.
I'm very thankful for all who have read, liked and commented. I'm always open to more feedback and eager to hear what people think. I have ideas for follow up stories, the first of which I've started planning. Therefore, comments and feedback I can take on and make those even better are gratefully received.
