Please note that a friend of mine who's a grade below me got an AFQT of 97. He's like, "Yeah, I heard that's pretty good."

I'm like, "Ya think? You could work on a nuclear sub with that score."

=-=-=-=-=-=

Now I just got to go through a few more dental appointments and I'm good for MEPs.

3903596 When I took the ASVAB, I got a score of 99. Maxed all the scores out, and I had them wanting to make me a nuclear engineer on a sub.
I chose the Marine Corps, and was supposed to go infantry, but they decided they needed mechanics, so they switched my MOS lol

Thank you for choosing to serve. What branch are you joining?

3903611 I'm going simple: Navy as a Culinary Specialist. And what was that about acing the ASVAB? How u do that?

EDIT: I've considered SpecOps before, but yeah... saw the first few hours of training and was like 'nope!'

3903616 Just like any test... the better you do, the higher the score. The test might have changed some between the time I took the test and now, but when I took it, the answers seemed easy enough to me, and the recruiters who saw my scores all said they had not seen anything so high. They were dumbfounded that my three choices for MOS were Infantry, Motor T Mechanic, and Armorer. They said I could do anything, so I picked the three that had the most appeal to me.

And I will say this, some of the best meals I had while in were on Navy bases. WAY better than any meal in a Marine Corps chowhall, or the one time I ate in an Army one. The only chowhall to match what I had in a Navy chowhall was in an Air Force one.

Thank you, once again, for choosing to serve.

Corporal Justin P. "Biker Dash" Emery, USMC (91-95)

That's not too bad.

Nice score man, good work! You're going places.
How did you study for it?

AFQT: 97 here too
I got
WR: 98
PC 97
EI 91
MC 87
I went into the Navy as a Damage Controlman
MY CO (also a brony) saw the PC and WK scores and said I should write fan-fiction. I took him seriously. I regret making that decision. :facehoof:

3903596 98 score, 132 GT. My best buddy got somewhere around 60, so nice job! Your country appreciates your service.

I took it last year when I was in 11th grade and got 81 for my AFQT.

Science and Technical: 70

Math: 55

Verbal: 66

When I took the AFQT (back then it was the Armed Services Vocational Aptitudes Battery or ASVAB) to join the US Navy in 1995, I got a 96; my recruiter took a look at the score and said "We have this additional test we'd like you to take." It was the Nuclear Field Qualifications Test; I missed by 5 points because I was weak on the mathematics side. I switched to Crypto Tech but the military was on a major security kick in the wake of the John Walker and Aldrich Ames scandals and denying security clearances for any reason. I had a thin credit file and some student loans, so the powers that be decided that could be used as a lever to flip me and denied my clearance application. Without a security clearance my choices for a rating were slim; not wanting to go to the fleet unrated I chose Mess Management Specialist (a cook; the rating was officially changed to Culinary Specialist right around when I separated from the Navy in 2002).

Trust me; you DO NOT want to go to the fleet unrated as a Seaman, Airman, or Fireman; they get the worst details and you will be hating life.

3903596 Good job man,I got a 97 as well. If I remember my scores correctly, I got a:
M: 99
A:95
G: 99
E: 95
(Air Force scores)
I ended up going Munition Systems. Anyway, I'm glad to see the amount of Military Bronies there are around here, it really surprises me.

I got a 99 afqt and a 137 GT. I'm a helicopter mechanic. Go figure.

3912817 Regretably big brother Air Force decided to keep me in Texas for a few years. And thanks to TFI, I'm at a friggin reserve base. How about you?

3914823 ya, I've found a few meetups, had some fun. Heading overseas, huh? Best of luck then! A bit random, but would you happen to know a guy named Kuisen, I think he's still at Lackland.

Navy cooks are considered the best in the military; my Oregon Army National Guard unit in Milton-Freewater was very glad to get me, and with me working with the overworked cook SGT we soon had the best chow in the state.

3912814 I am a damn good mechanic. However they are getting rid of my model of helicopter and my MOS, so it's not a good time to be a Kiowa maintainer. I am being reclassed to be an apache maintainer. Ick.
