9/11 happened 21 years ago today.
I'd like to take the time to remember not just the thousands that perished that day, but the millions more lives lost in the ensuing War on Terror over the following years. It wasn't just a one-and-done tragedy; it set off two decade's worth of fear and mistrust and death. It affected us all, one way or another.
I unfortunately feel like I cannot fully comment at length on the full extent of the damage and loss of life that the September 11 attacks caused, if only for feeling like I don't have as big a grasp on the true scope of things to really do so. All I can do for now is remember and pray. Not just for America, but for all humankind.
