One would expect a chapter that took almost a month to write and is only 4,286 words long would have many deleted scenes. Nope, just the one, and it's a short one as well.
Before Twilight could come up with a good lie, Rarity narrowed her eyes.
'Uh-oh.'
“I-It's not what you think!”
“So, you're not an alicorn then?”
“Of course I'm not a changel—wait, what?”
Rarity approached Twilight.
“You have wings—which are evidently not an illusion as that lightning knocked any illusions out. You were just struck by lightning, which is something that should have injured a normal unicorn. No to mention all that nonsense Sweetie Belle was rambling on about.”
The white unicorn hugged the purple alicorn.
“I'm so relieved you're not an alicorn. Becoming royalty is something I've always dreamed about and if you were an alicorn that would automatically make you royalty. It would make me insanely jealous and that would be quite unbecoming of me. So what happened? A misfired spell?” Rarity chuckled, “Maybe it was another bolt of lightning? Or was it some kind of virus that's going to start spreading?”
Twilight scooted away from Rarity.
'Lie! Lie! Lie, or so help me—'
“I-If it makes you feel any better, I'm already technically royalty thanks to Cadance and my brother getting married.”
Rarity's eye twitched.

Rainbow Dash and the Weather Team were hard at work several thousand feet above the ground, insuring that the storm went off without a hitch.
Dash rubbed her ears.
“That's weird.”
Cloudchaser flew up next to her carrying several buckets of pea shaped ice.
“I got the hail you wanted. What's wrong?”
Dash shook her head.
“Huh? Oh, nothing. I could have sworn I just heard Rarity yelling, but it must have been the wind from the storm. Now, get that ice into the updraft! This storm's still got three hours left and I want to make the most of it.”
“Yes, ma'am.”

“I can't believe you! How long? Have you always been one? Are you Princess Celestia's daughter?!” Rarity whined, “Why didn't you tell me?”
'See? What did I tell you? Lying's always preferred to telling the truth. Saying otherwise is just a lie that ponies tell so they can keep lying.'
“I-It's only been a f-few days and I don't know why or how."
I really disliked Rarity's reaction to Twilight's reveal and instead decided to go with the “giddy foal in a sugar store” route. I really liked the little Dash cutscene though, so that stayed, even if it worked better in this version.

Wait a tic- Twilight is already Royalty... So... why the hay is she freaking out over the whole, 'I have wings now'? It doesn't make her any more royalty then she is already, just laterally shifts her from, 'Royal Sister and The Faithful Student' to 'Next-To-The-Thrones and The Faithful Student', as well as 'Royal Sister'. It's a straight lateral change, no biggie at all...
4 Well, I think that according to this fanfic's canon, an alicorn has to rule a nation pretty much by default. Cadance has the Crystal Empire, Celestia and Luna have Equestria. That means that Twilight would either have to (according to the minds of the aristocratic ponies) find/create a new nation, or conquer an existing one. That is kinda a big deal.
I really liked the deleted scene but have not read the chap yet.
Yeah, the changes you made to that sequence show some, the final version doesn't flow quite as well as this version does, but either version works well, so it's a win-win for me.

Uhm - Royal titles don't work like that. The only way to be granted such a title is to:
a) take over a country
b) marry a Royal
or c) be granted the title by the current monarch
Now, Twi _might_ be about to potentially qualify for a), but she certainly doesn't qualify for b), and c) is incredibly unlikely, as you basically get adopted into the Royal Family.
She _might_ have a noble title, as Royalty seem to like giving those out to family members, however, this is not exactly a definite rule, as Kate Middleton's family shows.
There is also the argument that she may be in line for the throne of the Crystal Empire through that marriage. However, if that is the case, it would require the death of Cadance, Shining, and any children they have, plus any pony claiming blood relation to Cadence would arguably have a better claim, so they all need to be unable to ascend the throne, and even then it would go to her _parents_ before it came to Twilight. A person so distant from the throne is incredibly unlikely to be granted a royal title, and may not even be granted a noble one.
To sum up, Twi is not likely to be royalty at all, and if she _does_ have a _noble_ title, it is not going to have been as a simple result of being related to a person who married into royalty.
She is referred to as royalty in Hasbro's trading card stuff, but whatever.

Go in, get shit done, Make sure you know who you are and ponies realize, 'oh, you have wings', then, once they know who you are, make a big show of moving to Canterlot. Instead, stay in ponyville with teh changling spell.

If she panics. I mean, let's face it, she's an alicorn now, right? If anypony comes asking about her and can't find her, the simple answer is, 'Out training/studying/doing something for [insert Princess/Empire/Country/Group of beings of your choice here].

Ponies will tend to notice that she's always on hand when the other princesses need her, but mysteriously unavailable to talk to the townsponies the way those other princesses are. At best, she'll get a really bad reputation for elitism amongst the Canterlot ponies. At worst, one of the guards will end up blabbing on a drunken night off, and she'll be in even more hot water.
I could see the guards, but the mysteriously unavailable part is easy to explain away- She's being trained on how to be the next leader of Equestria, and until the intricacies of the crown are handled, she's not ready for mingling amongst the populace or the elite of Canterlot... which is true.

701726 Yes, but that would entail leaving her friends behind, which would cause a lot of angst-y situations that plague bad Twilicorn fics. Seeing as this is not one of said bad Twilicorn fics, it would be exceedingly difficult to have Twilight go and co-rule the Crystal Empire.
