    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

    Hugging Ponies

Well, because there was no TYT this week...

Here's an absolutely adorable tutorial on how to hug your pony from doubleWbrothers.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

Tell Your Tale: Startscout Code · 2:02pm Aug 25th, 2022

This week, the Mane 5 have to find pieces of an ancient blanket with images of themselves on it. The only way to get Bridlewood's piece is a musical note puzzle that you always hated in Nintendo 64 games.

Honestly, this episode didn't make a ton of sense, but it's cute, and that's half of TYT's appeal, personally.

I also refuse to believe that earth pony plant magic hasn't been used for tentacle rape fantasies somewhere in Maretime Bay.

But at least we got the name of the Shadowy Alicorn from Make Your Mark Chapter 1 in some merch previews this week.

Opaline.

I actually really like this episode even though there was a continuity error but it was nice to see Argyle even though he's not around still kind of sad and yeah the crystal Simon said thing yeah that was the difficult mini game in Mario Party and yeah I saw the news of the Alicorn interesting name I had to say and I am pretty interested what's going to happen in make your mark

The Argyle stuff was sweet, but the G5 lore is making less and less sense. I was hoping for this ancient tapestry to depict some G4 iconography, not a weirdly prophetic image of these five that was inexplicably torn in three and hidden. And wait, did infant Sunny in the video have that rainbow lock of mane that she didn't get until after the crystals were brought together?

Wait, centuries? Did I hear Queen Haven right about the throne room? Is she being hyperbolic or... how old is she?!

Strangely enough, I don't think it's ever occurred to me until now how much Earth ponies must be tearing up the streets with the plants their magic is growing.

Opaline.

Which I still think is pretty much Twilight Sparkle after becoming corrupted along with going with a new name.

This was a sweet episode, at least as far where baby Sunny and Argyle are concerned. The weirdly prophetic "ancient artifact" was kind of weird...unless (literally just thought of this) it wasn't an ancient artifact really, but like this one story I saw on FB where the parent got the kid excited to do mundane things by calling them quests...just a thought.

Yeah, G4 and now G5 both suffer a LOT from continuity issues, I know it's a kids show and I know that with the large number of staff and story writers and artists it would be impossible to NEVER drop the ball, but it would be nice if there could be an official timeline or something.

Anyway, of the 24 episodes thus far, this ranks in my top 5 favorites, especially considering the super short format.

So, per about the 1ish minute mark the blanket has been passed down for "10 generations" implying the artifact is somwhere between 200 and 700-ish years old (time for a generation to mature vs time for a generation to substantially die off, assuming Ponies have human-like lifespans).

But parts of it were "hidden in Zephyr Heights and Bridlewood years ago" would seem to suggest a more recent but still ambiguous date (a few years to a few decades pre-Argyle's recording?) on the split up of the and hiding of the blanket/mat thing...

The recording (and Argyle's confidence expressed in the recording there-in that Sunny would be the one to restore magic) seems to suggest Argyle was setting Sunny up for a "treasure hunt" that'd bring her into contact with Unicorns and Pegasi even without Izzy's little adventure.

If we assume the above is true that implies Argyle was either maximum sneaky or had contacts with access to the Zephyr Height's palace which has some interesting fanfic possibilities (A plot between members of tribes to try to make sure the prophesy on the blanket about the restoration of magic happened? A reverse heist setup for Argyle to hide the Zephyr Height's bit of the blanket? Argyle x Haven?)

Depending on how Pony tech has changed it's possible she has access to photos, plans or paintings of the older iterations of the the throne room. Or Haven could just be exaggerating...
