Help me, ponies.

England is not supposed to have daily temperatures of over 25°C. Over the last few days, it's been reaching 30°C. The guys, gals and NB pals in the Met Office who tell us what the weather forecast is have been issuing weather warnings due to the oven-like temperatures, and it's only a matter of time before hosepipe bans are introduced since there's been little to no rain at all.

I am not adapted to this horrendous, hot, humid weather. I can survive freezing cold winter snow and torrential downpours and March gales, but not this sweltering heat. This is my idea of Tartarus. I am not going to sleep much tonight unless it cools down. It's unnatural.

I'm seriously considering relocating to northern Canada or Greenland right now. Someone who lives in a country where the weather is naturally hot, please share some survival tactics other than "air conditioning" or "ice bucket challenge."

Sorry if you have to deal with this horrid heat wave bearing down on you. 30 degrees Celsius is considered a normal summer’s day down here in South Africa.

How in the name of Celestia do you survive?! :rainbowderp:

I'll try to get used to it, but I'm better at coping with cold weather. Apparently my ancestors were Scandinavian, so maybe that explains it? XD

Not a good combination. :ajbemused:

Huh

Down here in Texas, we’d all die to that temperature

We get 90°F down here

I think that’s.. 30-36°Celestia or so

I just have to bear with it. I may switch my air conditioner on from time to time but I sometimes have to go with the flow. Right now it’s currently winter down here in the Southern Hemisphere so I don’t have to worry too much.

Buy a Air cooler. better than an AC

Clearly, you're better adapted to warmer climates than I am.

5671964
The coldest it gets down to in the part of England where I live is about -5°C, although that in itself is quite rare. Usually, the freezing temperatures are reserved for the north of England, Wales and the Scottish Highlands.

Note to self: Book a cheap flight to South Africa asap so that you can survive "summer" without getting heatstroke or sunburns. Or relocate to northern Canada.

5671968
Ok, I'll keep that in mind, thanks :)

I wonder how the rest of Western Europe is handling this heat wave? France and Portugal are experiencing temperatures up in the forties and also wildfires.

You can also build one at home. You can search it up on youtube

alternatively you can watch this https://www.zee5.com/kids/kids-shows/bandbudh-aur-budbak/0-6-1899/ac-ki-aisi-ki-taisi-bandbudh-aur-budbak/0-1-245941

and skip to 6:23 for the Cooler recipe

Ouch. I feel sorry for the animals caught in those wildfires. Stop climate change, everyone!

5671974
I... No comment.

Oh yes, the sudden winter snowstorms. I could use one of those right now.

30-36°Celestia

I love the thought of ponies using Celestias as a unit of temperature.

I’m in Arizona, a little over 42 C right now, but I have a/c and fans and it’s a dry heat. When it’s humid, it feels like trying to breathe through a blanket. Maybe a hardware store has fans on display and you can go ‘shopping’. :raritywink:

Same here. I so wish that my mom chose some other time to come to England.

Or even better, just left me in Bangladesh so that I could maintain my perfect record of having never missed a day of school.

And so that I could do my exams. But here I am, in England, which literally feels hot as Tartarus.

I wish there were fans or ACs.

You're asking the wrong guy here. I'm from Phoenix, where it's currently over 40°C with low humidity. I've been to southern Georgia multiple times in July, where it can reach 35°C with >90% humidity. Now THAT is Tartarus.

sleep with a blanket :troll:

Texas pony here!
Always have cool water on the ready! And save electricity! Your power bill will thank you

That's the problem. It's not the heat, it's the humidity.
5672035
No 💛

Ok, thanks :)
