One whole year of hold ups · 1:32am Apr 5th, 2022
Happy happy birthday! Happy happy birthday! Happy birthday to The Stereotypical Necromancer!
One year come and gone since my bipolar disorder ordered me at gunpoint to write or else. One year since I threw a dart at my interests and hit Necromancy. One year since I spent five minutes thinking up a name, to come up with the inspiring, appropriately-ironic name of Light Flow.
Maybe about 320 days since I last accidentally called him 'Light Step' or 'Light Hoof'.
I thought about writing a retrospective, or an anniversary side story of some kind. Something to mark the date, to show that I still have the same passion and care that I did in the olden days.
But I thought of that earlier today, and even though I'm feeling good about writing right now: I don't think I could come up with something in the next three hours. Not anything good, at least.
So, shrug, I'm making my first blog post since December; one where I don't force myself into an apathetic tone to make people think I'm coy or something. Hooray for unblocking the chain of communication! For a day!
Yeah I don't know what else to really say for this. Like I said: I wanted to acknowledge the anniversary, and since the next chapter is only about half-finished on the easy side of it, a wimpy blog post was the most convenient thing to do. I'm here, and I care,tm so three cheers on the big one oh for Light Flow! 🎉
To the approximate ten to twenty people that will read this: feel free to ask me anything in the spirit of the 'holiday'. Me and my larger than life ego will answer any question that is not outright spoilers for future chapters; and that includes things you really shouldn't ask people.
Once again: And you may continue with your night.
Alrighty then, let's start it off with this. What's Light Flow's favorite food?

This is an interesting question! Also one that I've literally never thought about before, so good job on that hardball!
Now that I'm being probed, I think it might be time to reveal an interesting little tidbit about Light. There have only been a few scenes where he's been seen eating- such as chapters 15 and 20- but in both occasions: there's been one small detail that's so throwaway that I don't anyone's said anything about them.
Light doesn't have much of a sense of taste. Not to say that he can't taste at all, but his life may have been a little flavor deprived.
I think saying anything else could infringe on potential spoilers for things I haven't written or even committed to yet; but this is all besides the point, anyway. Meanwhile: do you think Light could be around Applejack for his entire life and not have a forced-upon fondness for apple dishes?
Maybe some nice, sweet apple crisps? I think Light'd be the kinda colt to enjoy a bit a' crunch, don't you? He enjoys tactile feelings and the like, so I think apple crisps may be the final answer.

Glad I can keep it interesting for you. So Light is a pone of texture, not taste?

It's been long debated what sorts of things Light has going on in his brain; moon goddesses notwithstanding. I'm no professional, but I think he's fond of having his hooves on things. He's been confused and lost in his head for great swathes of his life, and things so obviously palpable might appear enticing to him.
Anything that won't pull itself out from under him or spontaneously melt, you know?
He also has a cute little habit of licking his teeth or poking his tongue out when he's especially nervous or overthinking things. Maybe his way of trying to bring himself back down to Equus?

That makes sense. Visceral experiences and grounding. I wonder what he'd think of something like bubblewrap or sandpaper.

Well, he's a horribly damaged little colt who likes to lie more than is healthy: so I'd imagine something about denouncing them on principle of 'general silliness.'
Even if he secretly enjoyed the noises and the tingly feel on his face.

That's adorable.
He gets lost in his head a lot. Just rub some sandpaper on him and he'll be fine.
How does Light Flow feel about Applejack now? To me it does seem he likes her but refuses to acknowledge it.

Well, I plan to sort-of address that question in- well, probably the first chapter after Wake Up; so I think it would be a sort of spoiler to leak the implicit state of their relationship.
Though It's pretty obvious on its face that Light feels something for Her. Disregarding the little slips here and there throughout the chapters: I think you'll remember a little detail in chapter 36 where, in the deepest throes of his possession and paranoia, he still opened his door when he thought Applejack was there.
You know, this question would be practically answered if I had ever just finished that stupid Valentine's side story.
Maybe I should go do that?
