It's been a LONG time since there's been an update from me. Honestly, I was so busy with work that I didn't have the time or energy to finish the next chapter. My whole life is something of a wreck right now, and I've suddenly found myself out of a job.
Sounds like I've got it rough, huh? Well, being unemployed has become something of a... well, I don't wanna say "blessing in disguise" because I don't believe in magic, but you get the idea. So let's say it's come with some unexpected benefits. For instance: Time. I now have plenty of time to rest and work on myself and my story. I can clean up my room, maybe finally learn how to drive, work on my real-life YGO decks and spend some time in Duel Links and on the newly released Master Duel.
I also decided to go back and rewatch Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL. In its original Japanese with subtitles, of course. The English dub may have actually finished the show, but it's still not great. But the show in Japanese, oh man! I found out recently that it's even more beloved in Japan than the original YGO! After watching it all again, I can actually see why. Even the kid who voiced Yuma was phenomenal throughout the whole thing! Did you know he was only 16 when he was cast to play Yuma? He'd done some Japanese dubbing in the years before, but that was his first voice-acting role, and it was his big breakout to boot! Now does all kinds of voice roles, and is now part of the Ultra Series as the voice of Ultraman Z!
I just finished the last episode of ZEXAL and... well, I was inspired. Not only to challenge my writer's block, my ennui, and my own life, but to figure out how to end the Dueling is Magic! trilogy! And I think I've got it! I'd been bandying about two different ideas for an ending ever since I'd written the Numeron Code into the story. Well, now I know which one I'm going to use, and I know what's going to happen in the end! I still have to outline a bunch of duels and I've got to carve the path to that ending, but I know where I want to go with this story!
So where are we going? Heheh! Not telling! But I think you'll like it in the end!
Time to get my mojo back, feel the flow, and bring it to 'em!
Any big plans for Spike and Princess Luna too?
