And don't worry, the news is good. Mostly. Here's the deal: I have OFFICIALLY FINISHED Chapter 53 of Dueling is Magic! Many Futures. Well, pretty much anyway. I'm debating whether or not to add one more description of something happening at the end of the duel. But other than that and selecting the Featured Cards, the chapter's finished. FINALLY, right?
Here's where things get tricky: I have no idea where to go from here. I need to go back over... well, probably everything. I'll also need to start working on decks for some of the other characters. By that, I mean I need to come up with lists of cards for these characters to use. I've already decided on decks for Fluttershy (Naturia) and Pinkie Pie (Madolche), but I'm still having trouble with Applejack. On top of that, I still want Sayer to duel, and I need to come up with a new strategy for Aporia for his final rematch against Twilight. And some other characters besides... Black Rose Dragon got a bunch of new support in recent days and "Rose Dragon" is now a full-on archetype. Jack's deck has gotten plenty of support since ARC-V, and Crystal Beasts just got a new Structure Deck.
And then there's how the big boss fight is gonna play out. I have a lot of options. One that I'd been considering is a sort of gauntlet-style Battle Royale like what happened at the end of ARC-V. Basically everyone taking an intrusion penalty of 2000 damage to join in on the fight against Supreme King Z-ARC, which was pretty epic in all honesty, even if the only thing any of them contributed was buying time for the reconstruction of the four natural energy cards. But I don't want the participants to just show up and be used as punching bags in card commercials like in ARC-V. I want SOMETHING that they do to help build a foundation for a final blow against... whom? Yusei? Nightshroud? Someone else? I don't know. And not only do I have to decide on that, I have to build up to it as well.
One way or another, I am determined to finish this. I started it, I'm darn well gonna finish it! I don't care if this ends up being the "Deathbed: The Bed That Eats People" of FIMFiction, I will finish what I start! Not just for you guys, but for ME. I need to know how this ends. I relate to the world through fiction, even my own. So... I need to know what happens at the end.
I don't know who will be dueling next, but I'll let you guys know, either in another blog post, or in the preview at the end of the next chapter. I'm still here. I'm not leaving until I'm done.
Um, Madolche has an Xyz monster, from what I remembered 5Ds doesn't have Xyz monsters. I suggest to not use decks that has Xyz monsters as the main core of the deck.

I'd been planning to introduce Xyz Monsters for a long time. My own research shows that every show after 5D's is a separate timeline, but don't worry, I have a plan.
In the case of AJs deck... why not Koa'ki Meirus?
The majority of its members are beatsticks with straightforward effects, a lot of their best ones are EARTH (See what I did there?) attribute, and it's a strictly maindeck archetype, which might be a nice change from all the extra deck focussed decks of everyone else.
Heck, the maintenance cost could even be seen as an allusion to AJ maintaining her farm. (Ok that last one's a stretch I admit.)
Also, if I may suggest, when it comes to Fluttershy, I would recommend making Antjaw swarm her favoured tactic, the new Naturia support works incredibly well with it.
But if I were you, I'd avoid the Rose Dragons like a plague, they... just don't work.
They're supposed to act as support for Black Rose Dragon and Plant decks in general but... they don't.
They just don't.
So, unless you're planning to make a bunch of custom cards to fix that, I'd stick to just general Plant cards.
And as for Aporia, there's been new Meklord support released since your last entry, maybe focussing on that will help you, or at least give you a jumping off point.

I'll definitely consider this, but I'm not sure about Koa'ki Meiru. Strategically they would fit, but I also want the deck to work thematically, and the Core-Chimails seem like they'd be more appropriate for Starlight Glimmer (during her anti-Cutie mark phase) or an evil alternate universe version of Twilight.
New Naturia and Meklord support should definitely be plenty helpful for composing Fluttershy and Aporia's future duels (I most likely won't have them duel with or against each other). I'm also going to try and adapt the newest Malefic support into anime-style cards. I wonder what Malefic Territory would do if it were part of the anime series?
I'll do a bit more research on the Rose Dragon stuff. I think I can make it work, but I'll have to figure that out when the time to write Aki's next duel actually comes. I think it should be a team-up with her and Fluttershy facing Sayer.

Though being honest, I'm more or less just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks here.
AJ is NOT an easy character to match to a deck.

And that's it, shame Gold Pride hasn't been revealed beyond one card so far, from the look of it it might have a Wild West theme to it like the Muskets.

Hadn't thought about the Magical Muskets. I suppose I could wait a while longer and see what Gold Pride looks like too. Honestly, though, I was thinking about giving her Superheavy Samurai. An all-monster deck that focuses on defense and throwing its literal weight around seems to fit the bill for her.

Now I know I'm probably getting on your nerves with this, but hear me out.
Rather then have Fluttershy use Naturia, why not give that deck to AJ(Fruits, vegetables and trees, need I say more?), and have Fluttershy use Vernusylphs instead?
