I didn't order it. My budget does not currently allow for a $20 dice roll, especially when it may lead to Must Now Replace Hard Drive.
Before tonight, I'd never even heard of Ecrater.
Maybe I was happier that way.
And yet I would still wishlist the disc.
But y'know. Ecrater.
I don't think I'd trust it, either.
Especially since we haven't gotten word from Hasbro about ANY kind of dvd release.

There may not be one. I had to get European copies for Best Gift Ever and Rainbow Roadtrip. My S8 and S9 sets came from Malaysia, because Shout Factory decided it didn't want my money. Or yours. Or anyone else's. And Netflix? Hardcopy is not guaranteed. In fact, it's very rare. They do love to keep people paying for access, as opposed to that one-time fee.
So this was the night when I finally looked for something solid. And what you see above is all I found.

Which is why I'm looking into getting a region-free dvd-player as a secondary player to the one that's built into my current tv.
Been meaning to get one of those, anyway, and NOT just for MLP dvds.

It's why I have a region-free drive on my Amazon wishlist. I can only pretend to change the location on my current model a total of five times before it locks down. I've used one.
But with this disc, it feels like there could be an extra level of chance.

"working side of the disc has a dark color, not silver" -- that means it's a "burned" BD-R recordable disc, not a "pressed" commercial Blu-Ray. Odd that the guy would even bother to mention it, though; that's an obvious sign that it isn't a proper commercial release. (Of course, "ships from Russia" is a pretty clear giveaway, too.)
As for Shout Factory -- to my knowledge, they haven't released any further season sets of any Hasbro properties since about 2019, so it could just as easily be that whatever licensing agreement they had with Hasbro has expired, and it's Hasbro who doesn't want Shout Factory's money. (Or, more likely, wants too much of Shout Factory's money for a renewed license.)

No idea if it works — I haven’t watched movies or T.V. in years — but this seems promising and doesn’t look like it’d be difficult to verify.

ETA: It may have to be later in the month. None of the available models seem to be shipping from Amazon, and customer reviews claim they aren't truly region-free. Certainly explains why the first one went out of stock.
