I keep forgetting to make blog posts but here we are anyway! So Scarred Serpentine has finally been completed; most of the things I want to say has been placed in the author's note in the last chapter. I had lots of fun making this fic, and it was a challenge for me too in
I forgot to make a new blog post, but here I am anyway! Chapter 24 and therefore Act III has been released 
Act II took longer than I thought to be honest, but Act III has a lot of shorter chapters I can publish within intervals of a few days. I have interesting things planned for this Act, and it'll definitely contain unexpected turns here and there. Like I said, I'll see if I can
So I've watched the new movie twice 2 days ago and here are my thoughts (spoilers ahead duh):
- Animation is great! G5 animation looks way better in motion than in stills.
I changed a few things in Chapter 12—mostly minor details to clarify events that happen throughout the story. There was one major change, though: I made Feather and River's conversation at the end while drinking tea longer. Other than that, I don't think any previous readers would need
A bit of a wait, and many changes made, but I finally got around to publishing Chapter 11.
It's an interesting chapter to say the least, despite not many things truly happening yet (It's more of an introductory chapter to when Feather and River arrive at Bocoltá).

To be honest it is much longer, and I had gotten much further, than I had realized. Haha. It’s crazy sometimes how the word count adds up!

Yeah when I started writing I thought it would reach 80-90k, then I thought it would reach 120k before I removed some filler

I have never had a clue about word counts when I began writing a story. I mean… but can have a sense of relative length, but… maybe I haven’t written enough to have that sense exactly.
I also haven’t had filler? Not to say that everything is vital, but… I dunno. It’s all relevant? I’m sure I’ve got things that could be taken out of some stories, but… if it isn’t part of the plot, it is getting to know characters. I did do a series of dream sequences once that some people got tired of… maybe it’s just me and I just don’t see it, haha.

To be fair I planned extensively for Scarred Serpentine, and like I said I've written before so I usually know how my writing goes.
Filler has something to do with the efficiency of the storytelling as a whole, not just the plot. Everything may be relevant, but some things are more than others!
