Discord: Aha! Hello my fellow omnipotent beings reading this right now! It is my distinct honor to welcome you all to the Sparkling Harmony podcast, to commemorate the story’s first anniversary on Fimfiction!
(The fireworks sound effect happens.)
Discord: I’m your host Discord, and with me tonight I have some very special guests. No, not the Mane 6…mostly. No, I of course am talking about the Mister and Missus, Thundercracker and Aurora.
Thundercracker: Hi.
Aurora: Hello.
Discord: Changeling singing sensation Airwave.
Airwave: Yo. What up Fimfiction!
Discord: The Great and Powerful Twilight Sparkle.
Twilight: Hey.
Discord: And of course we must not forget the three most important creatures here tonight. The adorable Thunder Kicker.
Kicker: Hi everypony.
Discord: And of course, the two frontrunners of this story, the two best friends that always got each other’s backs. Flappy the parrot.
Flappy: Squawk! Howdy everypony. Squawk!
Discord: And last but certainly not least, the mare that made this series possible. Who’s story we’ve been following for the past year. The one, the only, the non royal Alicorn, Sparkling Medley!
Sparkler: Hey everypony!
Discord: Haha. So guys, Sparkling Harmony turns one year old today. That must be—
Kicker: Wait a minute. Aren’t we forgetting somepony? Isn’t there somepony else that’s supposed to be here?
Discord: Huh. Hm…let me check my notes…gasp! You’re right Kicker! We forgot the most important creature of all! Without him we have no story! Fillies and Gentlecolts, please join me in welcoming the mastermind behind Sparkling Harmony, Captain Cosmos!
Cosmos: Hey everypony. It’s nice to be here.
Discord: Welcome to our podcast. Now, as I was saying, Sparkling Harmony turns one year old today. How does it feel to reach the one year mark?
Aurora: It’s definitely something alright.
Thundercracker: It’s been an eventful year.
Discord: I’ll say. Hey Cap. Care to comment on this milestone achievement?
Cosmos: Well Discord, I actually had my doubts that it would last this long, but thanks to everyone reading at home, Sparkling Harmony’s still going. With no signs of stopping.
Discord: That’s great news to hear! We have a fun night planned fillies and gentlecolts. We’ll be answering your questions, discussing our favorite moments of the series. And maybe getting some info on future plans?
Cosmos: Hehe. We’ll see if I feel like leaking anything.
Discord: Splendid! Now. First off! Sparkling Harmony has had a lot of moments hasn’t it. Maybe some of them weren’t so good but a good chunk definitely was. Wouldn’t you agree?
Guests: (voice their agreement.)
Discord: Awesome! So. I think we should go around and share our favorite moment from the series so far! I’ll start. My favorite moment was when Fluttershy and I got together. Just as I’ve wanted for the longest time!
Flappy: Squawk! Of course you’d pick a moment that’s centered around you Discord. Squawk!
Discord: Hey, it can’t all be about Sparkler here Flaps. Hehe. Alright. Who else would like to share?
Flappy: I’ll say my favorite moment is when Sparkler swooped in to save Kicker from those two monsters. I’ll never forget the look on her face.
Discord: Yeah. (Shivers) That was definitely one of your scarier moments Sparkler.
Sparkler: Hey, I don’t mess around when it comes to ponies I care deeply about. You better be prepared for a smackdown if you foalnap my son.
Twilight: Don’t forget me. If somepony foalnaps Kicker they’ll have to deal with two ticked off Alicorns.
Discord: Ooh. You heard it here folks. Anypony foalnaps Kicker gets two Alicorn momma bears on their tails. Hehe.
Thundercracker: Moving on, my favorite moment was when our little girl found somepony like her. Twilight.
Aurora: Yes! That was so awesome! Also a great moment was when Twilight discovered who you really were sweetie!
Sparkler: Mom.
Twilight: Come on Sparkler. You gotta admit that was a pivotal moment for us. Because it was the start of something truly magical.
Sparkle: Sigh. Fine, I will admit the aftermath was wonderful.
Everypony around Sparkler and Twilight: Aww!
Cosmos: You girls are so cute together.
Sparkler: Your opinion doesn’t count since you put us together.
Cosmos: Fair point.
Kicker: Ok my turn! My favorite moment was when Mommy Twi and mom officially adopted me. Finally I have a family again!
Flappy: Squawk! That’s right you do little dude! Squawk!
Sparkler: And you’ll never have to worry about losing us.
Twilight: We’ll always be there for you. Whenever you need us.
Discord: Faust this is making me want to have a foal with Fluttershy! Cap can you please write that?
Cosmos: I’ll think about it.
Discord: Awesome! And in the meantime. How about you go next in sharing your favorite moment?
Cosmos: If I had to pick one moment Discord, it would be the 75th episode of Sparkling Harmony as a whole. Because it was the culmination of two very important plot points. Kicker finally finding a permanent home in Sparkler and Twilight, and Sparkler finally getting the girl.
Twilight: And I’d say after what she’s been through, she deserves a chance to be happy and have things go her way for a change.
Discord: Oh I agree completely Twilight. It’s appalling what her classmates did to her.
Sparkler: Yeah can we move on now?
Discord: Oh Absolutely! Twilight? Sparkler? Wanna share your favorite moments?
Twilight: No question, my favorite moment so far is when Sparkler here came out of the closet and revealed her wings to everypony. At long last she could feel accepted for who she is. I don’t think I could’ve been any more proud of her if I tried.
Sparkler: Aww. Thanks Twi.
Discord: So cute together! Anywho, Sparkler I assume that’s your favorite moment too? Or is there something else?
Sparkler: Believe it or not, coming out was the second proudest moment of my life. The proudest moment, and my favorite, is when I signed the documents that enabled me to assume legal guardianship of Thunder Kicker along with Twilight.
Kicker: Aww! I love you guys!
Sparkler: We love you too Kick.
Twilight: Always.
Discord: Cap I’ll do anything for you to write me and Fluttershy having a child right now.
Cosmos: Ain’t your story Discord. But if I feel like it I’ll write a spin-off one shot some time.

Kicker: Ooh! I wonder what questions we’ve got!
Discord: I got one here for you Kicker. Somepony out there wants to know if you ever thought about your special talent, what you might get a cutie mark for? Also, this same user says you’re a cute colt.
Kicker: Aww! Thank you whoever said that! As for what my Cutie Mark might be in…I haven’t really thought about it. I’ve been busy with…other things.
Twilight: Well what do you want a cutie mark in sweetie?
Kicker: Hmm…maybe I’ll get a cutie mark in music. That would be so awesome!
Sparkler: Hehe. If ya want I can start teaching you how to play guitar.
Kicker: That would be awesome!
Cosmos: That could be a potential filler episode.
Discord: Awesome! Next question, for Thundercracker and Aurora. What was it like when you first saw Sparkler had wings?
Aurora: Well of course we were shocked. Who wouldn’t be after learning their newborn was an Alicorn?
Thundercracker: Until then it was something that had never happened before, at least in recorded history.
Discord: In short, Sparkler is a miracle.
Aurora: Oh there were some bumps in the road, don’t get me wrong. Even without the whole…school thing.
Thundercracker: But in the end it didn’t matter what she was born as. We still love her all the same.
Sparkler: I love you guys too.
Discord: So many happy vibes in this podcast. Hehe. Anyway…Airwave! Here’s a question for you. What’s the biggest thing you ever changed into?
Airwave: Hmmmm…I’d say the largest would be my Pegasus disguise.
Discord: Really? Not a bear? A Timberwolf?
Airwave: And why would I have needed to turn into those things?
Discord: Touché. And what’s the smallest thing?
Airwave: I’d say the koala I tried to greet Kicker as.
Discord: Aww! So cute!
Airwave: Yeah.
Discord: Alright. So, next Question for…Cosmos. How did you come up with Sparkler and Flappy? And how did you come to make Sparkler an Alicorn?
Cosmos: Now here’s a fun story. First, for Flappy, I knew he was gonna be Sparkler’s pet since she was a kid so I wanted to give him a name a kid would come up with.
Sparkler: I can believe that.
Cosmos: As for Sparkler, originally I had thought of naming her Sparkling Harmony after the series itself, but in the end I decided to go with Sparkling Medley. Since that was music related and all that.
Discord: Sweet. And how about the Alicorn thing?
Cosmos: The thing about me Discord, I love making characters with troubled pasts for whatever reason. I’ve always found them more interesting on a story level. So when I came up with Sparkler, I figured an Alicorn hiding her wings out of paranoia and fear is something that isn’t done often.
Discord: Weren’t you afraid of the general hate for Alicorn OCs in the Fimfiction community?
Cosmos: At the time I was actually unaware of that. I had no idea that was even a thing. But I suppose I’m glad now that I didn’t make Sparkler a Mary Sue character.
Discord: Lucky for all of us here today. Hehe. Alright! Our final questions for tonight are all for Sparkler.
Twilight: Figures.
Discord: Right. Alright. First, was it hard for you to learn how to fly and use magic Sparkler?
Sparkler: Magic wise, I can thank Faust I have a Unicorn father who can keep up with a growing Alicorn. So learning magic was easy enough. Learning how to fly though, it was virtually impossible for me to learn how to fly before Flappy came along. So there were some difficulties, but once Flappy started teaching me it was as smooth sailing as you can get when learning how to fly.
Discord: Sweet. This user also wants to know if you’ve had any trouble being addressed in Ponyville? Cause there’s another Sparkler out there.
Sparkler: Derpy has mentioned her daughter Sparkler. But she said she was off in Canterlot at Celestia’s school for Gifted Unicorns. So for me, being addressed in Ponyville hasn’t been an issue.
Discord: Guess that solves the identification issue. Hehe. Ok, here’s another one for ya. Another user asks what your career goals are? Like what is your dream job?
Sparkler: I’m already in my dream job. To have a small studio and offer commissions for ponies who have that musical ear.
Airwave: And you do that well. Seriously Sparkler, you’re a real natural.
Sparkler: Thanks.
Discord: I can confirm that’s true. But have you ever wanted to work with bigger names in music? Like Countess Coloratura? Songbird Serenade?
Sparkler: I’m already working with the stallion that inspired me to take music seriously. You could say I achieved my lifetime dream. Though I guess it would be sweet to work with other big names.
Discord: Hehe. Maybe Applejack can hook you up with Coloratura. Anywho, alright. We’ve come to the last question…and Sparkler maybe you should answer this one. This was made before we specified that we wanted it specified who the question was for.
Sparkler: Fire away Discord.
Discord: How did the students find out you’re an Alicorn?
Sparkler: Do they mean Saddle Arabia or The School of Friendship?
Discord: I think they mean Saddle Arabia…readers, if you’re the one who asked this, perhaps you could clarify down in the comments and we’ll respond in the comments.
Sparkler: In Saddle Arabia, I never hid my wings like I did when I first came to Ponyville So everypony knew I had both wings and a horn, but nopony knew that was caned an Alicorn…sometimes I wonder what would’ve been if I HAD hidden my wings…
Twilight: Who knows. But at least you’re now in a safe and happy place.
Sparkler: And I have everypony here to thank for that.
Airwave: You are so very welcome Sparkler.
Discord: Yes! The magic of friendship always wins out at the end of the day. Ahem. Alright. I believe that’s all the time we have today. But before we go. Cap, care to give a little insight into what we can expect going forward?
Cosmos: Some one-shots, at least two spin-off series’. As for the main story, I have all the way to season 5 planned, and…a special project that’ll be set after season 3, but before 4.
Discord: Ooh! A special project. Care to elaborate on that?
Cosmos: That’s all yer getting out of me. You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out.
