    Actually nice content

Have a look at this lovliness.

Remember a while back when I made some Hearths' Warming content, the pony version of Santa and the Krampus. It was a nice thing, a happy thing. The opposite of caribou and zebras. And I finally got something drawn on that subject. The Hearthkeeper, Kampfite, and their Pooka wives Klåsa and Kråmpa.

Why I stopped (and might not restart)

It's a short answer. They broke me. Given some replies in the past, I can actually say to some readers, you broke me.

    I finally found it

Way back when, at the start of the Fall there was one specific image I was mining for context before I had more primary sources. It colored the entire perception of the caribou and gave rise to the ultra-harsh depictions as literal Nazis, and also why I hammer their racism so hard. If you happen to notice, all the women are ponies, and some men as well. Other species don't exist EXCEPT acceptable

    Placed in the monster pen

A popular setting for horror anything is the haunted asylum. See, it was filled with crazy people. Crazy people are all sociopathic professional serial killers, and when they die they all turn into ghosts with have an insatiable drive to kill stupid teenagers. Nevermind that the inmates of asyla generally had even fewer rights and protections than even regular prisoners for a ridiculously long

Help needed from Fallout: New Vegas fans

It's no secret I'm a strong Black Isle fanboy. I believe in the purity of Fallout one and two. It had the retrofuturistic feel and look of the old atompunk pulps, the senseless exuberance and clean lines of streamline moderne and Googie mixed with B-Movie sci-fi and all the little idiot lies that made it fun. There was a frivolousness to it. A joyous abandon when designs aped Mad Max, when people

The State of the Poodle · 10:59pm Dec 5th, 2012

About that title: While I am very much a Brony, no question, I am a furry as well. And have been much longer. And while I have a ponysona, kind of (not a generic one, a VERY specific one) my fursona is much more developed. So, I identify as a poodle a lot (I like the things.)

First of all, consider all my stories unofficially on hiatus, though more just slowed. I'm taking part in the Appledash group contest. I'm really trying to hunker down with it. 1000 words a day six days a week (I take off during my day on the internet) and I'm trying to put in a lot of detail and emotion.

As you may have noticed, I uploaded a new Bad Apple series opener. It's something I've been fiddling with. The standard sequel, years later. I've been waiting to show off these characters for a while. I hope you enjoy.

I'm sorry for all the delays in what should be quick series like "Hero's Journey" and "Changeling." Especially Changeling. I have come to realize I have written myself into a corner and need to puzzle out how to work it out.

There's a new "Contra" coming, and the next part of "Revelatory Filly Skydance." I've been working on a lot but not actually able to finish anything.

Thank you for listening.

That seems to be a standard response. Anything else?

577754

Comments of substance would be mroe appreciated. You seel like a decent fellow so I'm just asking for some erudition. I try to give it to readers. I would like it from them as well. Please.

577752
He has his own special language, it's from being on the internet for far too long (that and I think he's some genious/ wizard that developed a bot to ensue he gets first comment on everyone he watches).

Anyway I always found the idea of a X-ona weird, personally I self-identify as nothing at all, not even my normal physical form. I'm sure I have some mild dissociative personality disorder.

Why'd you feel like making one (purely out of curiosity)?

577776

I had a long, rambling explanation elsewhere but it comes down to this: We sell our selves by what we present to the world. on the Internet we do with via speech and our visual respresentations. Poodles have positive connotations as far as edudition and style are concerned. And I love the things. I decided that a poodle makes a good representation of me. And as for the ponysona, I've just used Bad Apple so much that he's sort of tainted with some little pieces of me.

In the end, an X-sona is what made to represent you when you cannot be there (like on the Internet) and is infused with the pieces of your personality that you choose to give it, which is why it looks like what you like the most or what interests you the most.

577813
Interesting, I still can't picture anything that would represent myself.

Have you ever considered turning Bad Apple into a Tulpa? Could be fun (I'm not crazy).

577827

If I believed such a thing actually worked (I'm not a non-materialist) I'd be afraid of releasing such a powerful guy on the world. It would be like having a real life Michael Westin loose.

577843
I don't believe in the meta-physical, magic, or religion at all (they're all the same thing really). Now I'm not disputing your choice at all here, but I am just saying that Tulpa's have scientific aspects that as apposed to spiritual (which is all BS) which actually has basis in fact (yes, according to unconfirmed sources, but this area of psychology is just starting out). What I'm trying to say is that they're mental schisms that exist within the hosts physical brain matter.

Personally I believe it's a mental disorder or some mild form of insanity, just not an at all unpleasant one, quite the contrary actually. I don't quite know what I'm getting at myself here, and I respect your decision not to inflict insanity upon yourself. But at least consider the possibility as just that.

Regarding the furry thing is it a sex thing or an otherkin thing?

Holy crap! You're alive!

577964

Speaking as one of Gabe's best friends, neither. The furry fandom's always appealed to both of us (I've been involved since I was 9, so two decades now), and it allows us to cut loose a bit in places. Mostly our writing.

I'm not trying to bash anypony I just don't understand it

577974

Been rather hard to tell, hasn't it? Rest assured, I'm keeping up with your story. I'm even doing another Trixie and Gilda fic (and kind of did one recently, check out the PSA "... And I'm Roani"). But I can't comment on stories, I just download them and read them later.

And please do read the other stuff I have going up :scootangel:

While I'm sad that it'll be even longer until I get some resolution, at least I'll have more time to get through my damn backlog. So is this Appledash going to be in-universe or not?

580179

Very in-universe. Notice how I used to try to focus on the Mane Six and wrote things like "Fluttershy's Decision" and "Twinkle Pinkle My Little Star." then they invented English Renaissance Luna and I was off. OC and sidefics became more appealing because the action was more varied yet still tied to the universe. But it meant neglecting the Elements, even as I implied major life changes, like Pinkie and Twilight getting married. So after I was invited to the contest (I'm not even a member of that particular group; a member invited me after seeing a comment I made in a thread on another group) I decided to show some of what has been missed over the years of Bad Apple's Black-Knighting. It will even explain why I always talk about Dash courting AJ but even after long stretches they aren't hitched (don't worry, they marry well before Applebloom and Zecora.)

578093

Being a furry is almost exactly like being a Brony. It makes a certain sense to you, you participate in a community of like-minded persons.

580590 Speaking as a friend of many furries (But not identifying as one myself) You summed it up quite nicely, though I would also add that akin to the term brony it means different things to different folks. As an aside Otherkin is more of a subgroup within furries.

580585

That's what I was expecting. So is this going to be a month long thing?

Some more Bad Apple? Totally Wicked!

581061

I hope not. I mean, maybe another 20k word story would be interesting but that seems a bit excessive. I might cut some elements to keep it from dragging. After all, I have to get to my other fics. There's a story to be told about Vanilla and Double, though please consider that not in the same universe as the other stories.

582829

What's that about Vanilla and Double?

583283

I'm thinking that while broad elements are the same, they are not in the same universe as the other stories. There's really only one difference but I won't spoil it.
