GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the Generation 5 Movie and beyond! You heard it right folks, after months upon months of speculating we can confirm that we are 'finally' getting a trailer on its way for our viewing pleasure later this week. Now when I first heard word about this upcoming trailer from several sources, mind you it wasn't specific as to whether we are getting a 'teaser' or a 'full length' trailer. Then again, given all the clips that have popped up in recent ads I think it's safe to say those were as 'close' to teasers as we were getting.
Fortunately, the wait for this upcoming trailer (Whatever it may be) certainly won't be as big a wait as the upcoming Helluva Boss episode.
Can we kill him now?
*Clears throat* Anyways... while we wait for the new trailer to come out, there's so much we can already expect based on what little clips and tidbits were thrown in. On one hand, we do find out a little something about that Sprout character voiced by Ken Jeong. For those who don't know, it's this smug guy down here...
I can totally tell it's Jeong just by looking at his face.
Apparently from what we've gathered, this guy is not only a resident of Maretime Bay but also he is the town's Deputy. Now I don't know much about law enforcement, but if Hitch is supposedly the Sheriff then I am pretty certain a 'Deputy' is a significantly lower level. Unless he performs at a level equally to that of a Sheriff... well, I'll figure it out eventually.
In regard to finding news about the trailer itself, it's also confirmed that despite this movie honoring the legacy of Gen 4, there are definitely some significant changes to make note of aside from the fact the ponies for whatever reason are no longer friends. The significant changes to uncover happens to center on this map released just a while ago to grant an idea as to what we as a fandom can expect:
I'm sure I'll love these ponies, but they pretty much blocked the whole picture.
For those who follow maps closely, we can see that certain landmarks bear a striking similarity to what we are used to back in the G4 Days. But as it appears, the once proud kingdom of Canterlot (As indicated by the similar castle by the mountain range) is the now titled 'Zephyr Heights' where all the Pegasi now reside. Now I've been hearing some rumors about some form of conflict that led to the Pegasi suddenly taking control of this kingdom where Twilight Sparkle was last to rule by the end of the series. So it's going to be interesting as far as how it all came to past. Course, what I still can't believe is how they have the name of Fluttershy's 'Kuzco' style brother in the title.

Well, least we have two things in common Loona.
While I can barely make out some details on the other areas, the one landmark with the sea and ship (Where Maretime Bay is) was rumored to be the place formerly known as Baltimare. So sorry to all you fans of 'Good Morning Baltimare!' but I'd wager it's not going to be easy doing a cover song with 'Maretime Bay' in its place. And if I'm wrong, I'm sure there'll be a new YouTube video of it in light of this news. And while not a significant note, Bridlewood (Which is the Unicorns' home) shares the same features as the Whitetail Woods as indicated on the original MLP map. Which notes that while this movie acknowledges the success of the previous generation, they are making it very clear to us that the Equestria we know no longer complies to what we're about to see.
Hopefully with the release of this upcoming trailer, some answers will be uncovered or at least enough to grant the fans with a significant idea as to what to expect. Or just as well, the trailer may end up raising more questions than answers. That will very much depend of the overall result of our experience once it comes out. But take note that when the trailer 'does' emerge, you'll be hearing a ton of notes from me over my 'thoughts' on the trailer and its featured topics. Not as good as Doctor Wolf, but I've got my own thought process too.

Izzy is sure to be the fan favorite come the film's release. I won't be surprised if she gets the funniest scenes in the entire trailer.
As for the Helluva Boss progression... I know they said it would be their longest episode to date, but I feel for the fans growing slightly anxious. I can only hope just like this new trailer the episode in general is worth the wait.

Try watching two episodes (including pilot) a week to kill some time

Try watching all the episodes at once every other day of every other week. And then deciding to watch the reactions mostly to listen to how other people react to the episodes.
In any case, Izzy is bound to be a popular subject in various FimFic related products. Course, I'm certain there'll be better stories of Miss Moonbow once the movie actually comes out. As of now, most stories on Izzy are based on what little info there was of her at the time.
I think it's weird how the three tribes have separated again and yet no one's done anything about it. You'd think with all their allies, when the tribes began to split all the other kingdoms would try to help them work things out so they'd stay together

Something definitely happened to cause a split between the ponies. Why their other allies from the various nations didn't step up and do something is beyond me too. The movie may not answer everything about Equestria, as it seems to mainly focus on the status of the ponies. But perhaps when the initial series comes out and more and more episodes and seasons are released we'll get a 'slight' idea as to what happened with the other nations and whether or not they 'tried' to stop the divide from happening.

I'm sure they've had time enough to plan at least a bible of sorts to determine what they want to do for the series. And perhaps what didn't work for G4, they may decide to incorporate those elements into G5. This way any of those ideas initially rejected for 'Friendship is Magic' or had little time to really dive into them may prove most useful for the new series.

A bit debatable, though it would be rather nice. The worse case scenario is that the magic depletion got so bad that every known portal to the human world disappeared leaving no entry there.

I could write better scripts in my sleep. Even rewrite them to make them fit more like the way we'd see 'MLP FIM'. Even if that meant setting up the stories to take place between Twilight's ascent to becoming a princess and BEFORE she grows older. Course, that would mean a few other changes would have to be made, but nothing I couldn't handle if I felt like it.

Neither can I. I've been hyped about it since they started talking more and more about this movie. I admit I was slightly hesitant at first but who knows? Maybe the movie will be better than the last one, since this is technically a first introduction to the cast and not a movie on those we already know.
I'm sure the trailer won't give 'too much' away as far as the time gap is concerned, plus it would annoy the fans if it revealed 'too much' But at least the cast has some pretty intriguing personalities so far (Least according to one video).
Anyways, soon as the trailer comes out, I'll definitely have much to talk about.
