My Little Pony G5 News 10/26/2022 · 4:52pm Oct 26th, 2022

That's either one messed up animation error... or the worst case of frost bite for poor Zipp...

GOOD AFTERNOON, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for Generation 5 and beyond! With the Halloween season just around the corner, stores all across the county are already setting up for the next holiday sensation sweeping our entire nation...

Gobble-gobble-gobble?

Nah faithful readers, I'm talking about a holiday so big that we had a crossover with Halloween back in the 90s. In other words... IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!

That's right folks, as we wrap a season of 'Make Your Mark' episodes and as the Tell Your Tale series continues to release content, with either good episodes... or poor ones... MLP G5 is currently preparing to release their first winter holiday next month. Not December (Even though that would make sense), but instead it is scheduled to be released around the 21st of this coming November. Frankly, it doesn't surprise me when Christmas specials come out a month before the holiday (I still can't believe they are going through with that 'A Christmas Story Christmas' schtick). Any who, we have before you a 'short' sneak peek at what's in store for the upcoming MLP G5 holiday special entitled:

Winter Wishday

Wow... it's over already?

Gimme a break, Loona! *Sighs* Okay, so it really didn't give away too much of what we can expect... except for the fact they apparently have some hovercraft of sorts to be able to traverse to wherever they need to go (No doubt it was a 'Zipp' invention of sorts). Though some of you may already be asking, 'What is Winter Wishday?'. It's certainly not a holiday we know about with the original G5 run, considering they celebrate 'Hearthswarming' and all that jazz. As one of 'four' specials animated by atomic cartoons, the special itself attempts to answer this one question:

Can the Mane 5 celebrate their holiday traditions and still make it back in time to exchange gifts under the Wishing Star for Sunny?

When you wish upon a star...

Nothing happens!

*Frowns* Kill joy...

*Clears throat* Several images involved with the upcoming Wishday special do offer some slight insight as far as what we could expect to come, at least for a special with a running time of 44 minutes. Said images include, but not limited to, the following of which you can see down below:

And that's why you must 'always' be friendly, or the Windegos will eat you for supper.

Okay... it's probably not 'that' extreme. If anything, the best we can get is a brief history on Wishday and 'why' such an occasion means so much to Sunny. I won't be surprised if this is another one of those days where she had her best memories with her late father. As for the 'other' image...

Do you ever why we ponies suddenly have only 'one' cutie mark on one side of our flanks?

All joking aside, we do know that Alphabittle will make some presence felt in this special. Given the fact we've mainly seen him in the Tell Your Tale episodes since the first movie, it'll be curious to see what kind of role he even has in this special (If any at all).

Overall, Christmas specials usually end up as one of two things: Either they end up being the most heartwarming stories to cherish for years to come... or as the '12 Pains of Christmas' puts it, another 'stale T.V. special'. Given that this will be G5's first attempt at a holiday special, such as the case with other generations that came before, how this will turn out will ultimately depend on how the fans view the special either upon their first watch or in a multitude. Viewers like myself have mainly been in the minority, neither thinking this series is 'good' but at the same time not as 'bad' as some think. But given how close it is to the holiday season, all we can do is hope that this special helps to represent what the true meaning of the holiday is about. It may be a story that we've often heard about a million times over, but who knows? They may include something new with this ordeal.

But the bigger question remains: What do YOU think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your earliest convenience.

Until then faithful viewers, this is the Dramamaster829... signing out!

I feel like this "Special" isn't going to be that "special"

Probably not going to be the case at all. If anything, it has that feel of a run-of-the-mill Christmas story that almost everyone knows about. Like those kinds of specials where 'nothing' is really at stake, but it still attempts to teach a moral lesson about the holiday spirit and all that jazz. I've seen plenty of them to know the drill.

I just hope the songs are good.

You wanna bet they'll do a version of "The Gift of the Magi" with two of the main 5?

5694683
If 'Ed, Edd N' Eddy' can do it, I expect no different from this special. Part of the synopsis does talk about a gift exchange after all.

Heck, G4 did it. Twice, technically

5694686
As a matter of fact, they did. The bigger question remains as far as 'How G5 would cover that same element and make it new again?'. It's a difficult feat in terms of putting together a familiar plot element and making it new again.

So far, G5 has peeked my interest just with introducing Twilight, if the holiday special is anything like G4, ill be surprised, im keeping my hopes up and anticipating this come November, stay cool, stay classy Drama, you're awesome:twilightsmile::heart::rainbowwild:

The mystery surrounding Twilight Sparkle and the message itself will certainly spark some interest for the fans. She is clearly trying to warn the ponies of the future, no doubt it involves Opaline. Though what their relation is remains a mystery for another day. Hopefully, the holiday special will turn out to be rather entertaining.

:rainbowderp:Bruh! ...That's all I got.

Shout Out 2 Tim Burton!

MOTHERF**KIN' CHRISTMAS!!! Not gonna lie, even I had a hankering for Christmas before Halloween this year!

Offscreen: Da Fuck's the matter with You!?

Da Fuck's the matter with Me!? But anywho we'll discuss more about that a little later.

Can the Mane 5 celebrate their holiday traditions and still make it back in time to exchange gifts under the Wishing Star for Sunny?

Pinocchio Christmas?

When you wish upon a star... Nothing happens! *Frowns* Kill joy...

LOL! ...But seriously, Kill Joy Indeed!

In all seriousness, I already know the true meanin' of Christmas & it's history & all that jazz, so I hope this special is decent at the very least.

We can only hope for a decent special, even if it is one of those events where we already know what's going to happen. How this 'Wish Day' even relates to 'Hearthswarming', if any at all, remains undetermined. For all we know, this show takes place thousands of years after Twilight's time so many things have changed (Including holiday traditions). Or maybe this was just a day between Sunny & her father because it was something they loved to do together. Who knows?
