Next chapter might take a bit longer than expected. · 12:13pm Aug 8th, 2021

Hey all, it's me! That guy who writes mediocre horse words by the thousands! Did you miss- okay you didn't have to say no that quickly.

So anyway, the next chapter's gonna be a bit longer than expected. Progress has been far slower than I have liked, which is a major bummer on all fronts. It's actually probably the hardest chapter I've written so far, even harder than the total mess that was chapter 21. I hated that chapter so much, I barely even edited it before just dumping it out into the world.

But I really don't want to do anything like that with this chapter. Anyone who's up to date on the story should know how important this next one is, which is why I want to do my absolute best with it. It may come out a bit awkward anyway, but at least I'll know that I pulled my own teeth to get it that way in the first place!

So instead of having it finished sometime today or tomorrow like I was hoping, it may be a couple more days. I can't pin down any sort of specific time because inspiration doesn't work like that, but I can at least promise to have it out this week. Who knows, I may hit on some kind of creative goldmine and have it done the day after tomorrow, but it's not likely. I'm maybe halfway or so through it, and that's before I quality check all the stuff I just wrote.

If it's any consolation, I haven't just been sitting on my butt this whole time. I've actually been working on it on and off for four-ish days now. Granted, I took the first day to draw up a preliminary plan for the chapter, so it's really more like three days, but that's still a lot of effort for me. Most of my chapters are actually quickly penned out in a creative haze of two or so days. I don't know if that's a super healthy way of doing it, but that's how I roll.
