Like, for example, one of my MLP OC antagonists, Sid, telling the Mane Six and their friends this quote after they've all suffered a defeat from a way bigger threat than Sid himself and as they try to come up with a plan, Sid tries to help the others by calming them down with some games so that they can concentrate more easily. After one of them, possibly Twilight, asks how he can be so nonchalant in a time like this, he says the above quote as a way of explaining his reasonings and why he still hasn't given up or fallen into despair during his defeats against them, I think.
