Greetings! I hope you all enjoyed reading the latest installment of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Pony as much as I enjoyed writing it! That is to say, quite a lot, actually. ^^
I got quite a lot of interesting feedback in private in regards to some of my choices in character development, particularly on the subject of Trixie. Some of it was positive, and some not as much. I appreciate all of you taking the time to voice your opinions to me privately even if you did not feel comfortable doing so in public, and rest assured I have no intention or desire to "Expose" anyone or any childish nonsense like that. I simply wished to express myself in regards to this sort of thing in the future as it pertains to the direction of the story.

I am in fact, characterizing her as trans, though I would not call it a bandwagoning sort of move. Honestly, I have always gotten those sorts of vibes from her as someone who has had issues struggling with gender identity in the past. I personally feel that as an artistic choice it has merit due to the way it elegantly meshes with the overall established themes of self-acceptance her character has throughout several forms of media in the franchise, as well as the way it meshes with the themes of several characters in my own story searching for self-actualization and validation ^^.
I hope that my succinct explanation of my artistic choices have been helpful in explaining why I have chosen this direction for her character and that her gender identity does not discourage you from enjoying the story, as I do plan to have several other characters with nonstandard gender identities and sexual orientations throughout the story, as I feel them appropriate to the characters and wish to have an outlet to tackle these topics through there lends of a Reverse Gender roles Equestria setting in a deconstructive format.

So just to be perfectly clear. There will be gay folks, there will be trans folks, there will be plenty of odd folks tbh. This will not be the last time someone outside of certain readers' comfort zones will make an appearance, and I have every intention of exploring them in interesting ways. And while I understand that this may make some of you uncomfortable, and I apologize for that, I have no intention of straying from my artistic vision for your comfort. After all, TTIGRAAP is my pet project, so of course, I am going to make sure it's dripping with my essence.
Very deliberately avoiding making a joke about sunburst and rose there, let's move on to updates! Next Order of Business, the EP!
I currently have 2 Tracks finished. (3 technically, two variants of the first track, and one for the second)
Flâner Dans La Roseraie and Die Sonne Schützt are both finished and available! All Demos and Final Mixes are licensed under Creative Commons with some rights reserved (basically, don't just rip my stuff to make money and credit me and the original artist and we are p much Gucci.) and free to be used for any projects or fanworks as long as you are sure to contact me to inform me of said project and ask my permission beforehand. Mostly because I want to see what you make!

I think while it would work, I don't think that really fits. Hear me out. It strikes me that trans as well as gay individuals want to be accepted as normal and just like everyone else. They want to blend in and be normal. (I was going to say "considered" normal, but realized that "considered" implies standing out, and I think they don't want to be different enough to be "Considered" at all.) They want to be just another normal person like everyone else.
Trixie.....Is really afraid. She is afraid of disappearing. She is terrified of not sticking out. Of not being noticed. As if should people stop looking at her, she might just fade away. She is loud, and flashy. She dresses in cloths that draw attention and her speech patterns scream "Look at me"
Trixie is afraid to be normal. She is afraid to be just a person in the crowd. In my opinion it terrifies her.
Does this mean she is not trans......n-no. Are the two incompatible? Again No.
Just my opinion on Trixie.

You would think there would be spells to... fix her problem, even if they were rare or difficult.

This is, unfortunately, a somewhat gross simplification of the human condition. Or in this case, the pony condition.
Trans folks, in my personal experience, do not wish to blend in with the crowd and be like everyone else any more than anyone else does, they have the same sorts of aspirations of fame and fortune and acclaim that any other pony might have under the same circumstances. I am afraid you might be conflating a desire to be accepted as the gender that they see themselves as with a desire to be the same as others. It is more they wish to stand out on their own terms, for their accomplishments and deeds rather than because they are different than other people in a way as insignificant in the grand scheme of things as simply being trans, you know? If anything being trans would be something Trixie would see as an obstacle to overcome to achieve her dreams of accomplishing worldwide acclaim for her magic, and drastically overcompensate for as I displayed somewhat in the previous chapter ^^.
The seeming inconsistency you seem to be implying simply does not exist the way you think it does, though I certainly cannot blame you for thinking that it does! And I appreciate you having the curiosity and decency to voice your concerns in a polite and reasonable way!
TL;DR: peeps are complicated, and one aspect of who they are doesn't wholly define them.

Actually, In universe, they don't! At least, not easily, much like you said.
Even with the alicorn amulet at her most powerful, which surpassed Twilight in her unicorn state, Casting a gender spell was still a bit beyond her actual capability if I remember correctly. It was certainly beyond the scope of Twilight, who was the most magically capable unicorn in the series under normal circumstances.
They do in fact, have at least one instance of a pony transitioning from male to female, as shown in this handy reference image set for Caramel in season one and Lauren Faust's own admission of the existence of a trans pony in the season itself. The process shown does seem to be slow, and quite possibly incomplete, as of course, the show does not give us any information on the state of the ponies er....genital bits.
In any case, it certainly is not as easy as casting "trans your gender" and being done with it, unfortunately. And even then, influencing the physical world to reflect your inner self would be more of a case of Essential Magic, and the wheelhouse of unicorns in the setting is Arcane Magic if you will remember the explanations given by nightmare moon in the chapter "Fly Me to the Moon." The magic may well exist as a natural phenomenon that is as easy as walking or breathing under the care of another race ready to be utilized (perhaps the changelings?) but is simply outside of her ability to cast at her current level of experience without knowing exactly what it is she would need to be doing and the proper training to utilize that type of magic.
it is also entirely possible that she is currently undergoing whatever sort of process of transition exist and is not finished with it yet. And even if she was finished, years of dysphoria does not go away overnight, that sort of stuff sticks with you, mental stuff runs deep, yo.
TL;DR: No, they really don't not even in the show where they demonstrably tried.
