Hiatus for Recharge · 2:09pm Apr 19th, 2021
Hey, everyone.
I've been doing some thinking. And I think I need a small break. Not a forever long break. Just some time to recharge myself for writing things on here. Don't get me wrong, I've been having fun with the stories I've published so far, successful or not. Writing Derpy was nice, and finally resurrecting Adagio's Soccer MILF story was good too. But while I've outlined some future projects, right now, I just cannot muster the urge to push myself to them. I need time to really approach these ones.
I've also been wanting to work on some original things: stuff away and apart from MLP. I've been writing fics on here for years. And while it's been great to do so, I'm not making money off of these. I have no Patreon, because I don't produce enough/feel I do enough to merit asking for money on a subscriber basis. I've done every single one of my stories for free, because I personally just wanted to contribute to a fandom that quite frankly gave me purpose and drive when I had none several years ago. And I am grateful for it eternally.
But I can't make a living or develop a future for writing in just MLP fanfictions. I have to work on things beyond it. And I want to. As much as it chews on my nerves and confidence to abandon a comfort zone and move out into completely uncharted and likely unknown territory, but I have to. And writing things apart and away from MLP can let me work out some practice to hopefully come back better at this sort of thing. I've seen so many other authors on this site write such fascinating and better done pieces than I've done in my history. I'm in awe of them and their ability to paint such vivid tales without a crutch like I use with mature stories. I want to try and do better like them.
If you message me here, I tell you now, I may not answer right away. That's not me saying I'm anti-social; I mean it when I say I'm taking a breather for my own well-being. I'll try to answer back to them all once I get back in the seat of things. Until then, keep on writing yourselves. Come up with stories yourselves. There's always room for another writer at the desk.
