The Sweetest of Sweet Peppers (An autobiography by a ghost writer) · 4:14pm Apr 8th, 2021

I’d like to talk to you all today about Sweet Pepper.

You might have seen the name pop up now and then recently, and likely this is due to my undying and frankly disconcerting excitement regarding her. I would like more people to write about her. As such I have prepared a little summary document about the precious treasure that is she.

~Sweet Pepper~

There she is. What a gorgeous pony. Some would say best pony. [who?] Me. I would. Well, maybe not best.

She sure is fuckin’ cute though.

So what the frick frack snick snack is a sweet pepper? Well, it’s a small sort of fruit with seeds, often used in cooking, but that’s not important right now. What’s important—the most important, at least as of writing this, and because you have it open and are reading and therefore need to know—is Sweet Pepper.

She’s a pegasus. Burgundy coat, burnt orange mane. Light blue eyes. Nervous smile. Heart made of gold.
And smooth muscle.
Anyways.

What we know of Sweet Pepper comes from a late-season episode that I haven’t watched. I have seen one screenshot of her and knew how amazing she was. If you don’t think that’s valid you can fight me. Or Red Parade. Not because he’s gonna defend Sweet Pepper or anything, but just because he’s an easy target to make people fight.

I have thus decided the following is undeniably canon for Sweet Pepper, based on extensive study and research of one vector pulled from Derpibooru, posted above for your convenience.

  1. Sweet Pepper is a born and raised Canterlotite. Her cutie mark, a compass star, showed up when she was making fantasy maps for a Goblins and Oubliettes campaign; she’s excellent at creating worlds, and as such, cartography and fantasy writing are strengths.
  2. Unfortunately, one of the reasons she is so good at crafting fictional worlds is because of the support and safety the escapism of them gives her. She suffers from a severe General Anxiety Disorder; she is terrified of upsetting anyone or being in the spotlight, and while she’s passionate about her hobbies, she struggles with speaking to others, and tends to recoil and cringe away from even well intentioned ponies due to her paranoid mind.
  3. Her biggest hobby, and a huge part of her personality, is taking part in the Daring Do fandom. The clubhouse she’s a part of is a rare location and group of ponies that she’s able to remain calm and fully shine. She’s able to talk about the worlds she’s written based off of the canon, about the book-accurate maps she’s recreated from clues from the texts, and won many fanfiction writing competitions. Any friends she has she has met through the clubhouse, even if they were just casual visitors for the day.
  4. And of course, once she is comfortable and opens up to you, she is unstoppably adorable in her excitement about worldbuilding— either the worlds she’s created for fanfiction, new stories, Goblins and Oubliette campaigns, or about how pre-existing fictional worlds were built. Her enthusiasm is practically unmatched.
  5. Despite how difficult it can be living with her anxiety, she does try to go out and try new things and hang out with friends; she’s big on facing her fears, though she needs outside help in doing so. If a friend asks her to join them trying something new, or to come to a new social club, she will attend as best she can.
  6. I feel like she would have a nasally voice.
  7. Her biggest friends are Derpy Hooves—who isn’t a big Daring Do fan but whose kind heart and silly antics have always helped Sweet Pepper forget her fears and enjoy the time—and Citrine Spark, who’s always been there to comfort Sweet Pepper when her fears and anxieties have overwhelmed her.
  8. Sweet Pepper has difficulties taking care of herself, sometimes holing up in her room for weeks at a time without showering or eating a hot meal, typically especially after a bad attack, or before joining friends for non-Daring Do group activities. As a result, even when she gets cleaned up, her mane is long and generally unstyled, hanging loose and frazzled on her back. When she does go out, she’ll typically head to places of comfort, like a friend’s house, the clubhouse, or Clean Rag’s Diner, a small malt shop and burger joint that’s deep in the Canterlot downtown but generally quiet and empty, allowing Sweet Pepper to pony-watch or meet with friends at a location convenient to all of them.
