It depends how strict you want to be with accurate fractions per unit of time (I'm vaguely aware a sidereal day isn't strictly 24 hours). For simplicity's sake, I made no further concession than to acknowledge leap years exist and that 12 months don't divide neatly into 365 days, much less 365.25 days. But it gives a good idea of scale.

I gave up on the dumb traditional time-keeping methods that involve variable months and Daylight Stupid Time quite a while ago, and now live my life according to strict centakilosecond "days". It's the ideal solution, and I'm sure everyone else will come around... any day now.

Decimal time, eh? Bad news: the French already tried it! And unlike the metric system, this go at converting everyday life moments into base 10 went over... well, about as well as you'd expect, really.

I'm honestly astounded that something as sensible as the metric system ever endured after it stopped being enforced. Furlongs per fortnight and hours that change duration depending on the time of year... now that's more typical of human measurement systems. And don't get me started on months named after gods! (I want my birthday to be on the fourth of Anubis.) What was good enough for the Sumerians is good enough for us, I guess.
