Somepony pinch me. Sure, it's not in the Featured Box, but 21 upvotes and 300+ views on the first day? Thank you so much, everypony! 
A lot of people probably think fan fiction is silly, that it's a waste of time to write about something for fun, something that isn't your original work. Still, you're creating something, and it's special to you. So to see this happen, to see so many others enjoying and appreciating something that I created, it fills my heart with joy.

You bet. Like I said, I'm flattered anyone would write a sequel to one of my stories, even a silly one like DNA Test.
Fanfiction can be silly, sure, but I think we all like it or we wouldn't be here. And as far as I am concerned, fanfiction is just as valid a form of writing as original fiction is. After all, some works lauded as great can be considered Bible fanfiction, such as Dante's Inferno, and for centuries people favored reading and writing fanfiction for the same reasons we do today. The elitist attitude towards fanfiction cultivated by the modern literary world is disheartening and frustrating.
In other words we are in complete agreement, and I support you in your endeavors.

By any definition, the works we create are just as much literature as anything not based on a prexisting property. That is also why I tend to force terms like writer or novel even here - they are just applicable, and considering the talent shown by some of the authors here, I truly believe that should be remembered. Because who are we if not writers? Painters? Composers? Yes, some of us are, but that art which we publish here, it is very much literature as any other, and I dare those who oppose that claim to find a single definition of the word which could justify that.
And... wow, that reception you got is honestly great.
I should try to get back into writing... or at least when I stabilise emotionally...

You will. And when you do, even if you don't continue your current stories, I have tons of ideas I'm waiting to tell others about. I should really post them somewhere for somepony else. *light bulb glows above head* I know exactly where to post them. Back in a second. *dashes off into the distance, leaving a dust cloud behind*
