"Stallion of Tomorrow" Status Update · 7:27pm Feb 25th, 2021
Hey all. Just making a little post here to let you know how things are going and to address a few things.
First of all, progress is continuing on Chapter 3 between my usual real-world activities. I can't give an exact estimate right now, but I think I'm nearing the half-way point with it. Could change depending on how much I modify it. Either way, I'm working on it and it's coming. I don't know if the publication announcement issue from the last two chapters will have worked itself out when I publish this one, so I'll give everyone a day's advance notice before I throw it up. Be sure to check your feeds!
Secondly, I'd like to preemptively address how the story will be affected in regards to the recently revealed G5 info. In short, not at all. This is purely a G4 story set immediately after Season 9, so there's no chance of canon mix-up or anything like that. And if there was, I'd just AU it.
Now one last thing I want to discuss, and it's something that I've been thinking about addressing for a bit now. I've seen a few comments about a pony Justice League or a Batman pony, and while that's all well and good, the honest truth is that first and foremost this is a Supermane story. And if there's one thing that the DCEU has taught us, it's that rushing to establish some massive shared universe faster than you can develop a good story leads to trouble.
That isn't to say I'm not opposed to making potentially more DC-esque ponyfics in the future. But for now I'd like to keep Supermane's story pretty self-contained, but still leaving itself open to future possibilities. And frankly, I'll probably stay with the Superman side of things should I continue from here; I think his corner of the mythos has a lot of untapped potential that most adaptations ignore.
And besides, I just want to know I can successfully pull off this story before I consider doing others. One thing at a time.
So yeah. Story is still very much coming along, and G5 won't affect it in anyway.
