This is gonna be hard to explain

So, you know how we get to see written letters in some stories? One example is near the end of this chapter right here. It’s simply portrayed as this dark gray vertical bar at the very right of the screen.

I’ve been wanting to know, in case I want to use that effect in future stories, how to do it?

On the bar of options when writing here on the site, where you access the emojis, text color, et cetera, you'll see the quotation mark symbol ( " ), to make a message into a quote.

Doing so makes it look like this, which is I believe what you're looking for. Alternatively, you can simply type [ quote ]sentence[/ quote ], without the spaces.

Well, at least, it creates the box. I thought it did the bar, too, but I guess not. :/ Confused a bit, myself, now.

Actually, that bar thing is also just the quote function. It appears as a gray box if you were on a forum or blog, but it changes to what you’re describing whenever you quote some thing in a story.

So this right here is what it looks like when I quote some thing here, but if I put this in a story, it would appear as the letter does in that story (good taste btw)
