An Update in Regards to Bug in The Mirror

Hey, guys.

So, as I am sure many of you have noticed, Bug in The Mirror has been updating really slowly as of late. I wanted to take a minute to explain why.

First off, as some of you might be aware, my main editor has had to withdraw from internet life because of real-life issues for the most part. I do not know his present status, and as such had to bring on a couple of new editors to help me find typos or plot issues. But as they were not present when the story was originally conceived, nor part of its original planning phases, the aid they can render is, sadly, somewhat limited. I do not say this to downplay their effectiveness as editors, but there is just a certain intrinsic link to the project they are missing that I feel makes their editing a bit less effective.

Secondly, I've just been feeling a general lack of enthusiasm for it of late. This is probably also born in part because of my editor's disappearance. We would talk about the project in our spare time just to pass the time. Not even planning or making real decisions, just speculating, hypothesizing, and positing fun, non-existent 'what-if' scenarios. That's the only reason I can manage to come up with, though. It's possible that I might have just burned myself out on 'Bugs in Strange Places' stories. I dunno.

Third, there is Rise and Shine. Somewhere around the time of the cancellation of Scarlet: Broken Pedestal, the concept for Rise and Shine bulldozed into my brain like a freight train and I just HAD to get a start on it. And I am enjoying working on it very much, make no mistake. It's possible that I may just have plonked too many writing projects on my plate again, but I do still very much like the concept for Bug in The Mirror, so you can put aside any concerns about me canceling it. That ain't happening. I just think I'm gonna let it sit for a bit until I get my mojo back.

I just wanted to clear the air on that. Bug in the mirror ain't going anywhere, it's just taking a little breather.
