But this is partly because my main profession is voice acting and you need a LOT of sleep to do well there. It's also because I'm genuinely a very restless sleeper who has issues with insomnia a lot of the time, so long resting hours help me compensate.
Sleep is some fucked up witchcraft shit that has no place in the realms of science and makes no sense.

Just for reference, how much sleep do you need to function. I have found 8 to 9 works well for me. Only problem is getting that amount.
