I Read a Good Fluttershy Story · 1:48pm Feb 4th, 2021
So I finished In the Grip of Fear this morning and loved it, and while faving/commenting/upvoting* I noticed that even though it was posted yesterday it doesn't yet have the ten votes needed to have it's rating displayed.
This is a god damn shame, because it is an exceptional Fluttershy story. There are a lot of interpretations of Fluttershy, from 'delicate flower' to 'don't go in my shed', but the one I think is truest to the concept of her character is 'she has severe anxiety, especially when it come to social situations, but is a gentle, clam badass when it comes to animals and nature, even when those things are at their most frightening and cruel'. AKA 'nature is so fascinating' Fluttershy. And this story absolutely nails that last one. It's also edge-of-your-seat tense and very well written. So please go look at it? It deserves more attention.
While I'm on the topic, Chores at the Cottage is also a good story in a similar vein, if much lighter and siller in tone. But that one got boxed and has zero downvotes, so I'm not worried about it.
*You should do this for all stories you enjoy BTW. FiMfic is fist rate when it comes to giving new stories exposure, but here as elsewhere on the internet the algorithm rules all.
You say that as though they are rare :V

Precious fucking jewels.
Wow, thank you for the signal boost! As you can guess, that's my favorite interpretation of Fluttershy, too. I'm glad it came across in the story; it can be hard to predict how effective one's own writing is.
