I still can't pick a canon ship for Misty Morals and it's driving me up the damn wall · 7:34am Dec 23rd, 2020
So... yeah, Reginald and Right Hand Man are my favorite characters in The Henry Stickmin Collection, I think they're awesome... And I'm not the only one given some of the interesting fanfics I've been reading. Everytime I think I've settled on which one to ship Mist Veil with, I come up with ideas for how the ship would work with the other character (as evident in Across all of Imagination, which is slowly becoming a dumping ground for ship AUs)
I don't want you guys to decide for me, I feel like if I did, I'd be obligated to write the winning ship when I want to it feel more natural. But at the same time, I don't know what else to do.
I know it's still a long ways off, but being so torn up about this has impacted my mood a bit, when do I plan for the romance to happen? How will people react? Would I ever write something M rated and do I want to?
I feel like I should make a decision now, that knowing exactly which character will catch feelings for Mist will give me peace of mind and allow for more creativity in the long run. It will allow me to fully focus on the story and characters while saving the romance elements for later after Mist becomes a vampire.
So, uh, any thoughts on either ship would be appreciated. Is there one you like and why? Why do you not like the other ship? Or is it still too soon in the story to make a decision?
Please offer as much information as you can.

I did say the romance was a long way off, we're talking slow burn levels here.
I think I will PM you, an outside perspective from someone who doesn't already know how the major story beats will go might help.
I prefer the rhm ship for a very simple reason I just can’t picture mist and Reginald doing anything romantic without thinking does he really have time for that
Plus I mean I think would be good for mist
You could always leave it to the readers to vote on it.
If not, why not make an OC from her past with Sunset; a noble boy their age who wasn't a pompous, snooty knob.
Every main ship doesn't need the lead male/female(s) being the only worthwhile ship-worthies for each other.

Mist is a self-insert character... And I do want to ship her with either RHM or Reginald because my dense, demisexual self became fixated on those two characters specifically.
When you want to write a demisexual character but you're own demi arse can't pick between two fictional dudes you like equally...
That's why I'm asking for other perspectives, how I will go about the ship may differ from what people expect.
