Alright, so it's been over a month since I last blogged. Figured it's time for an update.
What I must do in this blog is change something I said in my last blog. This:
Then, when #6 it is complete, Magical Mission's speed will resume as normal, and hopefully it will do so already at a further point then it is now!
Then, when Magical Mission is complete, I can go straight to Story #7, as #6 will already be done!
...will not be coming to fruition. I decided to start Story #7 as soon as #6, which is Stinging Sadness, was done. At least for the foreseeable future, I will be working on two stories simultaneously all or most of the time.
I still do intend to give Magical Mission more priority this time around, especially now that it hasn't gotten a new chapter in 18 days. But I'm currently finding it really difficult to write Chapter 7, and I'm also stuck on how Chapters 7, 8, and 9 should behave. What content each should contain. I'm still figuring out where the boundaries between these chapters will be, and there's a certain element of Chapter 7 that I still can't decide what to do with.
Add that on top of the fact that I just started creating a collab story that I'm really excited about, seems to be picking up good views by my standards, and has shorter chapters. It's hard to put that story at #2 priority in favor of a story that has 34K words with only six chapters and features two confusing elements blocking my path.
But I really want to, not only because Magical Mission does have a decent view count, but also because there are the final chapters of that story, and future stories, that I'm really excited to get to and don't want to wait too long for them. With Magical Mission moving at the pace that it is coupled with Secret of the Pies being in progress and me not wanting to work on three stories at once, I can't help but feel like it could potentially take me until February-March or even later to get to stories #8 and #9, when I was really hoping to have them around by December-January.
#9 in particular I don't want to wait that long for, because that story was originally supposed to be #7. I moved it down in favor of the collab, which did turn out to be a double-edged sword. I love that I'm doing Secret of the Pies (#7) now and collaborating with another user. But believe me when I say I was excited for a November release of what is now #9. I predicted that month, and would have been correct had it retained the #7 spot.
What my goal is here is to quickly solve the problems slowing down Magical Mission and learn to balance work on it with work on Secret of the Pies. But, as many things, that's easier said than done.
Hopefully, I will succeed.
