    One Year

It's hard to believe it's been a year since my dad died. Sometimes it feels like a decade ago, sometimes it feels like it was just last week.

A premature end to NaNoWriMo · 3:25pm Nov 17th, 2020

Booting up National Novel Writing Month Accountability program...

Error.

No data found.

Yeah... I've kinda given up on NaNoWriMo. Sorry, Isis.

May I inquire as to your reasoning for this course of action?

Well, maybe because my whole family's caught COVID-19? Finally picking up a substitute teaching job just to immediately get whammied by the global pandemic?

There's just a lot going on in my head right now.

...understood. In the absence of National Novel Writing Month updates, shall I begin the audience engagement protocols?

Yeah, sure. I'm gonna go back to bed...

Greetings, fellow adventurers.

In light of... recent diagnoses... morale is low in the Inkwell household. Given this fact, I would like to propose a new question:

What is your traditional cure or comfort food or beverage of choice when feeling ill? Pennington recently prepared a large pot of chicken soup for his family which they are still eating from, and I know that he is quite partial to apple cinnamon tea when not feeling well. Seeing as how I cannot relate to this sensation, please elaborate in the comments as to why these make you feel more healthy.

Fare well, fellow adventurers. Stay safe.

I've got good news. You're right on target for National No Novel Writing Week, which I started a few days into November and have been keeping up with since then.

“Well, maybe because my whole family's caught COVID-19? Finally picking up a substitute teaching job just to immediately get whammied by the global pandemic?”

Excuse my french but that fucking sucks! I really hope everything gets better at your end, this year has been a total shitstorm for pretty much everyone everywhere, but if we made it through the beta version of this mess over 10 years ago when the banking crisis of 2008 and the Influence epidemic hit I’m sure we can make it through this mess too :)

As for my “traditional cure or comfort food or beverage of choice when feeling ill” well:

Just like Penn chicken soup is usually what we eat, however i will recommend to get lemons, green lemons, cut them in half and squeeze the Joyce out of them and into the soup, preferably when it served rather that when is in the pot, everyone should add lemon juice at their choose, however at least one half of a lemon is recommended, this lemon thing add flavour and the vitamins C of the lemon helps to fight the sickness, the more the better and who knows maybe one of your family members is like uncle and adds 3 hole lemons worth of juice to his bow of chicken soup.

Another thing is pure orange juice, I not sure about this because I don’t make it instead I buy it form a convenient store close to were I live but here’s what I have seen them do: get yourself some oranges, the biggest you can find and as many as you can get (I aware that this can be difficult and expensive in the US do to being harder away from warm sones, and the fact that is winter) now after washing the oranges get a big pot and fill it with drinkable water, then submerge the oranges and let them rest for a few hours 2 of 3, they should absorb some of the water and get bigger, now that you have big oranges, put them out of the water DO BOT DRY THEM AND CUT THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, now that you have 2 half’s get the seeds out as soon as you can, now that you have yo seedless oranges put one in a big squeezer, preferably a manual one and the kind that you need 2 hands to operate, the kind that pushes the inside of the orange out and the outside inside, something like this monster, and that’s it, do not add any sugar or anything, that’s your pure orange juice, you should make enough juice for everyone to at least drink over a 1/2 of a litter that should be drink it during a time span of 2 hours or in one sitting of your are eating, it will be very strong you will probably have the taste in your mouth for hours, but it will help to make you fell better

Also some confort food should help, keeping the spirit and moral up is vital to fight any sickness, I will recommend you something very simple that is nice to eat before going to bed, a turkey ham sandwich with chocolate milk, if you want the bread can be toasted but only just a little as this is just to warm the bread and you should use a little of mayonnaise, just enough to give it a little flavour, also cut the crust -unless you like it- I read this “recipe” in a novel and it became a favourite of mine when I try it

Ginger ale helps me feel better. As does hot chocolate.
