So... I think this is the end of my road trip adventuring.
Sorry I've not had a lot of updates lately for you guys, but honestly I'd kind of fallen into a situation where there wasn't much to report. I was barely getting by making deliveries for Uber Eats and sleeping at campgrounds and truck stops... Until today.
Today, when I was leaving a parking lot, I didn't see an oncoming semi truck. It struck my car just by the front wheel and spun me a hundred and eighty degrees, leaving me totaled. Thankfully my guardian angel was working overtime and I wasn't injured in the collision, just a little sore and tired tonight. Another second or two later and I'm not so sure that would have been the case, considering my airbags didn't even trigger in the crash. Police were there and got all the insurance info from both parties (the semi was barely scratched), and I got picked up by a friend.
No car means no work, no home, and no chance of staying on this adventure into the sunset.
My friend is letting me stay with him until Friday, when another friend is going to be headed back to Texas to visit family and I'll most likely be hitching a ride along with him to go back and stay with my mom again until I'm back on my feet. I had already set up with the university that I was going to be taking a leave of absence, which should give me time to get back on top of things and hopefully get the resources to come back by then.
So... yeah. Maybe in time I'll come to see this as "just a temporary setback," but for now, it's the end of this adventure...
Ouch.
...why is it that, after writing about a group living in a car on the road, I wound up living in a car on the road, and after writing about their car getting totaled, MY car gets totaled?

I'll... I'll keep you guys in the loop as best I can in the next few days. Technically I got a citation for "not yielding to oncoming traffic," which might mean the accident is legally my fault, but the officers pointed out that the parking lot had trees and improperly parked cars blocking the view of who was coming, so I might be able to get some understanding from the court.
For now, I'll see you guys later.

Yikes! That’s rough man, hope things turned out well and glad that you are okay, been to a car accident before when I was a kid once, wasn’t the best experience

You know I try not to be superstitious, but if I were you, I'd never write a story with myself as a character where horrible things are happening to me.
I don't think that works until you actually write it in the story. But then again, I'm not superstitious.
