Status Update · 12:41am Nov 15th, 2020

As of last night at midnight Pacific Standard Time, the channel known as Unus Annus ("one year" in Latin) shut down after one year of producing any and all content it could - as it promised to do when it was started. The idea behind the channel, in my opinion, was to reflect on the fact that we all have a limited time to do what we want and to leave an impression on the world. Mark and Ethan (the guys who ran the channel, better known as Markiplier and CrankGameplays) have left me thinking over just how many things I have neglected over my writing career here, now over one year old itself.

I wish to use this post to highlight on these, and to give an answer to anyone who might be wondering where they are.

1. The 100 Followers Celebration Update

I have not forgotten I promised something big for reaching 100 followers, I swear. "Update 1.00" is being pushed back to December, or maybe even to January given my commitments this holiday season. This month I am focusing on writing more than editing as a part of NaNoWriMo, and as such, I have little room to commit to a big revision. The update will come in it's own time.

2. Make Love, Not War

This is actually the focus of my NaNoWriMo: the continuation or completion of what is looking to be my biggest story to date. In hindsight, I shouldn't have started publishing chapters until it was done, but there's nothing that can be done about it now. Chapter 2 has been completed, and work has started on Chapter 3. However, as my creativity tends to wander, work on it has become sporadic. Fortunately, this leads into my next point...

3. NaNoWriMo Stories

NaNoWriMo has given me an opportunity to write fifty-thousand words within a month - and I'm a little less than halfway there. While the focus is indeed supposed to be on Make Love, Not War, I know my creativity enough to also focus on smaller stories that crop up. So far, there are over half a dozen short stories, including two speedwrites from Quills and Sofas Speedwriting, with most of them having cover art at the ready. I will be spending December and January editing these stories, and others that have accumulated over the past few months, and get to publishing them.

4. "The Plan"

My biggest, most ambiguous project to date is the plan I alluded to in my 50 Questions blog post. I can't reveal anything about it yet, but to anyone from Quills and Sofas reading this blog post: keep an eye out for the Nice List in your notifications. This plan of mine, a project I will refer to as the "R.I. Project," is set to launch in January. Stay tuned.

5. The Ocean?

For those of you who read my One Year Later blog post, I alluded at another large project on the horizon, a "taste of what's to come" as I put it. This is another massive story that is in the planning stages as of right now. There is no set date for when work will start on this project, but I hope to spend next year's NaNoWriMo at least starting to write it. Learning my lesson from Make Love, Not War, I don't intend to publish the first chapter of this story until the entire thing is completed.

Stay safe out there people, and take care of yourselves.

-yours truly,
The Legendary Bill Cipher, Equestria Enthusiast
