State of the Scribe: April 2024

You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.

State of the Scribe: February 2024

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven't had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that's a good problem to have.

State of the Scribe: January 2024

This is exactly the 71st month I've posted a patreon calendar. Almost but not quite six years of writing fanfic, sharing all these ideas with you that would otherwise stay trapped in my head. I couldn't begin this post, and the beginning of a new year without expressing my profound thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your help, big or small, is the only reason I'm still able to write

New Story: The First Willowbrook Christmas!

Hey pones! A Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! Last year I wrote a short story for the holiday, but the editing pushed it back for a little while. For those who enjoyed Sisters of Willowbrook, I have a story for you to check out! The final chapter will get posted tomorrow:

Hey pones, sorry for being a day late. It was too spooky for me to post. We've got awesome stuff this month, so I'm going to get right into it.

First of all, you'll see a new story coming on the 18th, Hand of the Ancients. (At least, assuming we get the cover in time). This story focuses on Lyra Heartstrings, discovering the history of her world isn't quite what it seems. Though only Part 1 of this story is written so far, it feels like a crime not to share.

Next, Hour of Twilight will be coming to an end on the 26th. That's right, the last chapter! We've been taking this journey for so long, but sooner or later we were bound to reach the conclusion. I hope you've all enjoyed this ride as much as I have.

You'll also see that Fine Print has moved to Saturday. I'd like to make some adjustments to the schedule to even out the stories across the days, rather than a binge model.

We should be seeing more stories turn over in the next few months. Child of Mine is on track to be done in December or January, and Fine Print probably about the same time. Mew Like me should be done in January. This means the new year will be a new birth for stories, with an almost completely new catalog of weekly stories coming.

What will it look like? December we'll see our first new story, about the accidental creation of the first crystal pony. In January we should get my next Optimalverse story as well, that'll be exciting.

What else is coming? I wouldn't want to spoil all the surprises. Though if you know what I write, you can probably make some guesses.

Lastly, since I never know whether people are reading for the first time, a reminder that Mew Like Me is open to anyone to read on my Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/user?u=3226653&filters[tag]=Mew%20Like%20Me&sort=published_at

That link right there will get you them all, if you'd like to read some TF/AR/TG about an adorable cat who gets herself into many places she does not belong.

Well not my art. Zutcha does most of my covers. https://www.deviantart.com/zutcha . But yeah, he did that one. I'm glad you like the story!

Never let your stories die no matter what people tell you always keep on going and take as long as breaks you need

It's interesting -- with fine print getting to 1k likes I was expecting an extra fine print as opposed to it being pushed later.

Hour of Twilight might genuinely be my favourite story you've written, and given just how many amazing stories you've put out that's no mean feat. It's actually made me excited for Wednesday's, and I constantly refresh to catch it as soon as it uploads. Can't wait to read the no doubt thrilling conclusion.

Don't think of the chapter as being delayed, think of the story as being moved to the day with the best readership. At least historically, Saturdays are the days where I always saw the highest number of people online. Not having any story publishing on Saturday is like leaving--well, not money--it's like leaving words on the table.

So stoked for the new Optimalverse story.

I thought something looked different... you adjusted your schedule. Just gonna have to get accustomed to it. Hour of Twilight and Fine Print are my faves you are currently working on. I like how you are using constellations for HoT chapters. Figured it would be ending soon... there are only 88 constellations!

What does AR stand for in TF/AR/TG?

It is a very good story
Started reading it today and am at chapter 14 now. I just wish ii could read it on my iPad but the darn thing is to old and won't load much of the patreon site

Age regression?

Can't believe you're making us wait two days for more bat pony shenanigans!

You know, I actually didn't notice Fine Print hadn't updated until now, Friday evening? :rainbowlaugh:

Good to know about the changes in posting schedule regardless though.
