    The Blueblood Papers: Old Blood

With Christmas and New Year over with, we have but a long and bleak January to endure before the dawn of Spring. To make the wait a little bearable, I hope you'll enjoy the first chapter of the new Blueblood story available here:

While on leave, Blueblood meets his hero, A. K. Yearling, and is dragged into a Daring Do story he would much rather have read.

    Bound by Blood Retrospective

With another Blueblood Papers story completed comes another retrospective. I'd like to start by stating that I think Royal Blood, the one that came before it, is the best story that I've written in this series, and after finishing Bound By Blood and looking back on this latest story, I still think that. That's not to say that I'm unhappy with how Bound By Blood came out, of course, but

    A Map and Some Lore

Maps are great. As a kid I used to spend hours pouring over my parents' atlas, even though it was a little out of date and still had the Soviet Union on it. It was, however, the 1990s, and the collapse of the USSR had only been a few years ago, so I suppose they could be forgiven for that.

Ten Years of The Blueblood Papers and AMA

Well, not quite. As it happened, I've missed the exact date by a few days, as Blueblood: Hero of Equestria was published on the 8th of October 2012, but we'll quietly ignore that from now on.

The Blueblood Papers: Bound By Blood

After a nice Christmas and a New Year, I am back with with sequel to Royal Blood.

Blueblood's captors said, "For you, the war is over." How wrong they were.

And yes, I know I said I'd call it 'Captive Blood' earlier, but 'Bound By Blood' has extra alliterative appeal. I do hope you enjoy it. The usual monthly updates will proceed as normal from here on (hopefully).

State of the Writer - August 2020 · 9:06am Aug 25th, 2020

It's probably about time I updated this blog thing, if only to push that last one off my profile page. So yes, in the last one, written way back in March, I had come down with a mild case of covid. Though it was mild case that didn't require hospitalisation, thank Celestia, it was deeply unpleasant experience that I can best describe as the worst hangover I have ever felt stretched over the course of a little over two weeks. Mercifully, I don't appear to have passed it on to anyone, as this coincided with the start of the lockdown and my working from home. A mild case of it is still awful, so please keep yourselves safe out there.

Anyway, since then, I've continued writing more Blueblood, easing into the routine of one chapter a month. I also had the time to write a silly little crackfic about public nudity and ponies which went down quite well, the rather volatile comments section exploding over a few harmless (and admittedly quite cliche) jokes about a certain world leader and a certain news broadcaster notwithstanding, and have been dabbling in a few extra things on the side that may or may not be worthy of posting one day.

I have been working from home since the lockdown started in mid-March. It's been a bit awkward, to say the least, and while I greatly dislike the intrusion of work into my home, not having to commute has balanced that all out. Being able to chat on the FIMFic Discord has helped to alleviate the solitude. However, from September, as schools re-open, I'll be back in the office full time again. Needless to say, I'm not overly happy about having to return to that little disease factory, though of course I will take all necessary precautions that I can. I have masks to wear, of course, and I am also fortunate enough to have a cage office to myself that I can hide in.

In more positive news, Kris Overstreet has started an audiobook series of Blueblood: Hero of Equestria, having done a first livestream that should be uploaded onto YouTube. So watch out for that.

You seem like an interesting feller

Hardly. I'm quite dull.

You're interesting in your dullness at least

Glad to hear you’re doing well!

Hooray for the recovery!

Not-so-hooray about needing to go back to school in-person. At least you probably can't catch Covid twice (though the jury might still be out on that one).

Awesome to hear about the Blueblood audiobook, even if I prefer to consume my books visually.
