Hello everyone, or everyone still around. I know I've spoken up in blog posts a few times recently, but I felt like making up a proper status update for where I am writing-wise.
I'm actually hopeful for this one. Compared to the dour, depressing "realism" of Nolan's trilogy or the obnoxious edgelord bullshit of Snyder's movies, this one actually looks like a reasonably competent portrayal of a dark and gritty Batman in Gotham City. Hope to God that they can pull this off...

Huh. If anything I think this is trying to be more realistic than the Nolan movies. Catwoman's mask is a crude cloth thing that only vaguely resembles her default look. The Batmobile isn't some fancy custom vehicle or reverse engineered military tech; it's a black corvette or something with a rocket attached to the back.
But then, maybe it'll come down to tone. The whole trailer screams the "twisted reality" feel that I normally associate with Batman, so there's that.
5341609 I was mostly talking about tone, honestly. The major reason I hate the Nolan films and everything to do with them is how they tout themselves as being "realistic" and yet flagrantly undermine that at almost every turn with ridiculous bullshit like the Joker always having everything go his way, Bane breaking Batman's back and yet it just needs a good kick to be put back into place, and Bruce Wayne somehow escaping a fucking nuclear bomb at the end of TDKR?
Have you ever watched the Dark Knight trilogy?

Started watching Batman Begins, but they took it off of Netflix before I could finish it.

Oh.
Well, I haven’t seen the trilogy yet, but I’m deeply interested in seeing the three Batman films. I heard a lot of great things about the trilogy.
